Summary: This unit works well but setup can be a bit difficult. Just do as the instructions say. DO NOT plug into a extension cord DO NOT plug into a power strip DO NOT plug into a uninterruptible power supply DO NOT plug into a surge suppressor or isolation unit. Once I got the units synched and found the spots they liked it was easy. It took a little work to find the right spots but they work well and are fast. I am pleased and would recommend them and would buy them again.
Summary: I admit I was quite skeptical when a friend suggested I try an ethernet-over-powerline solution, after my wireless USB adapter died. But after about one week with this device, wow, am I very glad I was wrong! This was literally plug-and-play, and I was up and running very quickly. There was no need to install any software at all. I am running Linux Ubuntu (12.04) as my desktop OS, and it recognized immediately that there was an ethernet cable plugged in.
Summary: Simply put it does what it's supposed to. Plug it in and connect your devices and you're done. Much more reliable than Wifi in my experiance. Instead of buying a wireless dongle or media bridge for you Xbox, PS4, TV, BlueRay, etc. just plug one of these in and hook up a small switch to connect your entire home entertainment center.
Summary: This product works as advertised; it deserves all the praise it's been receiving. On the personal side, I'm very happy to be able to turn off the wireless function on my router and have only hardwired internet throughout my house without stringing cables everywhere. The performance of this unit beats wireless hands down-- no more frustration from dropouts, skipping, etc. that came with wireless. And of course this is much more secure.
Summary: I bought these so I could update software on devices in the home that didn't have wifi. They work great, I plugged one in next to my router and just moved the other to whatever room I needed and they worked great. I had no loss in speed. Much (less expensive) than buying dongles from TV manufacturer. I have a detacthed shop and it even works out there. I have afcis and gfcis and still no problems.
Summary: For those wishing expand their networks, these worked perfectly with my older TRENDNET TPL-401E's. Just plugged 'em in and they worked right away. The price was right and they were delivered quickly.
Summary: Plugged the devices in and they worked without issue. Could not have been easier (unless they walk in the house and plug themselves in). The PCs I have them connected to are communicating as fast as if they were connected directly to the router.
