  • Summary: Got this to connect a Roku player that was located where the wireless signal was not strong. Not the latest technology (that would be HomePlug AV2) but thought it would be sufficient for my need (broadband download rate of 15 Mbps). Got it working right away after plugging them to wall outlets. So far all as expected. What I did not expect was that it also worked when I pjugged it into a surge protector power strip.

Works well. Fast enough for normal use

  • Summary: Pros: It works very well with few tweaks. It also works flawlessly with existing 303E2K adapters I have in my home. I am getting around 190 Mbps across adapters, which is good enough for my use. My 303E2K adapters barely gets 95 Mbps across adapters, so I can see benefit of having 500 Mbps bandwidth between adapters. It seems much more stable compared to 303E2K, and I haven't experienced any single signal drop.

TPL-406E Powerline Adapters work well

JohnB, B&H Photo
5 November 2014
  • Excerpt: I have used the TRENDNet TPL-406E-2K Powerline Adapters for several different scenarios and they have worked flawlessly in each case.In the first case, a lady I know wanted to be able to stream Netflix to her television in the living room and the DSL Internet connection with the router was on the second floor, the construction of the house made it difficult to run a Cat 5 cable from the router to the room with the television.
  • Pros: Compact, Easily Expanded, Easy To Set Up, Highly Compatible, Secure
  • Cons: None

  • Summary: PERFECT! Literally plug and play! This device is awesome! Exactly what I was expecting! I plugged my modem in the first adapter so that way I can move my wireless router to my actual room so that I can get the most optimal signal for my devices! Worked flawlessly. My speeds are incredibly consistent and my WiFi signal is phenomenal! Thank You Powerline Adapter Technology!

  • Summary: I bought this to hardwire connect a wireless access point back to my router. The access point is located on the first floor and the wireless router on the second. Wireless dead spots seem to be everywhere on my lower level. This powerline adapter kit works as advertised. According to the enclosed Trendnet utility I am sustaining a 200mpbs connection. My wireless coverage has never been better. Great Product! Highly recommended.
  • Pros: Works great!
  • Cons: None.

but was amazed to find it work perfectly

  • Summary: In our NYC apartment the wifi, even with WDS, just couldn't reliably get from one end of the apartment to the other. I find this a weird concept and wasn't sure it would work, with the two outlets being on different fuses (I'm a sysadmin, not an electrician), but was amazed to find it work perfectly, right out of the box. I plugged them in as needed and bam. Totally sold.
