Summary: If you plug these units into the outlets without plugging in any other appliances, you'll get a good and stable network connection. Each unit must occupy the entire outlet exclusively. Otherwise, you may get sudden slow downs or even drop outs.
Pros: Easy connection. Good speed for the Internet.
Cons: Units sometimes get quite hot. Nowhere near 500Mbps.
Summary: Had high hopes for these, but unfortunately they do not work well. Connection drops often for no reason. Contacted TredNet support and you are supposed to send them this to USA... wait for weeks etc. No guarantee that replacement would work.
Summary: I bought one of these to replace an old Linksys powerline kit that I had for a few years, within a couple of weeks it's already defective. The adapters keep dropping connection and after running checks on my motherboard, updating the network drivers on it, updating the firmware on the adapters, it's...
Pros: Faster then older network solutions, convenient
Cons: Horribly unstable, only two pronged, flimsy material
Summary: I bought a pair of these so I could wire in our TV/media centre and not use wireless. Works pretty well with good speeds as the wiring between the router and TV area is pretty good. Less happy about the management software- it is Windows only and will not run using Wine.
Pros: Easy set-up if you use default security code, reasonably fast on good connection
Cons: Windows-only software, hard to manage on Mac or Linux
Summary: Had these for a while now and other than the annoying drop ped connection that require re-sync once in a while this product works fairly well. Please note I am using this product on the same circuit, i don't know what the performance drop would be if signals need to cross to a different circuit.
Pros: - easy to set up, - good value (sale 35-40 bucks)
Cons: - loses connection once in a while requiring re-sync
Summary: I previously had TrendNet's "200Mbps" variety which worked well but (like the other reviewer), I was hoping for more speed. Oddly, with the factory firmware as shipped, my speed was actually LESS!! After I update d the firmware, the speed was marginally faster than the previous generation.
Pros: smaller (than prev gen & some competing units)
Cons: only 100Mbps i/f, so 200Mbps max at FDX (and the whole industry is misleading with the rated speeds, anyway)
Summary: first of all this device use 1 x 10/100 Mbps Auto-MDIX Ethernet port so forget about the 500mbps advertised speed. the real speed i get is 1.65 mb/s which is about 13mbps, but this is probably a problem with my house electrical wiring, because checking on the net people in general get much faster...
Summary: This product works well. It was extremely easy to set up. It worked immediately. It's much more stable than wifi. However, I have to return it, because it makes a high pitched noise that most people can't hear.
Summary: I had purchased this product for my computer, and for the time being i was using an old laptop, and through some clicks, i bridged the connections, though very bulky, as i had to keep a laptop on my tiny desk along with my mega computer and 2 monitors. After receiving my product, I plugged it in on...
Summary: These were packed simply. They did exactly as expected and connected right up. Only comment they say 500 Mbps as a unit. However they are only 100M ethernet or 200M full duplex. Not sure how they can provide 500Mbps like that.
