junk

  • Excerpt: I got this for my home network - for the other end of the house where wifi is weak. Whether or not it works is moot since I couldn't get my computers to recognize its presence (Win7sp2). I have since found out that I should have gotten a wifi repeater. Live and learn.

Make sure your Modem/Router has a min of 50 Mbps download speed,or they SLOW down the works, the more WiFi devices you have.

DosZap, Amazon
22 January 2015
  • Summary: Not the products fault. What the makers of these products FAIL to tell the users is that they SUCK signal strength off your Modem /Router signal strength(depending on provider and what you pay for). So if you have other WiFi enabled products, the more you use, the worse the signal strength.

  • Summary: As per invoice 3416023 I have ordered 2 sets of TRENDnet TPL-406E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter Kit Part 80858. I received the order and I got poor quality and defective devices. Even if I connect in same room I can't get more than 54Mbps.
  • Pros: Small devices
  • Cons: I can't get more than 54Mbps

Not worth the time and effort

HbDudeInSpain, B&H Photo
27 December 2013
  • Excerpt: I've used powerline ethernet adapters before (ie Airlink's), with which I've had NO problems. In their simplest, default usage, you should be able to plug them in, connect an ethernet on both sides, and voila - connectivity.

Don't waste your money

Amanda Garrison, Amazon
9 December 2013
  • Summary: These not work as stated. I could not even get 1/3 of the rated speed when both were plugged into the same outlet. When I moved it to the other side of the house would barely make 50 MBPS. When I moved to the porch outlet, it would not even register a connection. I ended up returning this item.

Didn't work for me + deceptive advertising

Graham Stewart, Amazon
4 August 2013
  • Summary: This product didn't work for me. I only got 10-12mbps in a pretty small house. My biggest gripe is that this is marketed as a 500mbps product, but the ethernet port on the device is limited to 100mbps.

Feel Cheated - Only One Adapter

Koh Yong Hong, Amazon
24 March 2013
  • Summary: The original description mislead people to believe that the kit comes with 2 adapters but the shipment only comes with one adapter. Very disappointed. Now the description has clarified that it comes with only one adapter.
