Excerpt: I got this for my home network - for the other end of the house where wifi is weak. Whether or not it works is moot since I couldn't get my computers to recognize its presence (Win7sp2). I have since found out that I should have gotten a wifi repeater. Live and learn.
Pros: I'm a tech by trade so I often buy stuff and try it out for awhile to see how it works. I bought two sets of these (4 total) and they have never worked well. I intended to replace my 200 mb version, which did work, but ended up with a bunch of stuff to add to my junk drawer.
Cons: I've tried endless combinations and none work well. I get worse speeds with these then my 200....how is that possible when these are 500s? WiFi is faster and that shouldn't be the case. I say try another brand because quality control is poor...hence the price.
Summary: One of the units works on every power outlet, whereas the other unit only works in some outlets. When used in other outlets the second adapter would not even power on. The outlets are working fine with any other electrical device.
Summary: When I bought this, there were not nearly as many negative reviews are there are now.
Pros: If you want to waste hours of time trying to make this work, this is the power line adapter for you! OK, do not use a power strip, do not use it near electrical devices, make sure they are paired, make sure the firmware is up to date. Then make sure you try resetting the devices at least 12 times...
Cons: I can't return it because I waited to long to unbox it and made sure it works.
Cons: These things ended up being a major disappointment. I got them on a shell shocker deal for $25, and given the mostly positive reviews I figured that they would be great. However these constantly disconnect every few hours. The disconnection time last anywhere between 5-15 minutes. I switch backed...
Summary: Well, I got this because it was on sale and seemed to get good reviews....followed the instructions (plug and play?) and the second unit is refusing to actually connect and transmit data to the main unit attached to the router.
Trying to get good internet access 60 feet from the router
12 October 2014
Summary: I purchased two sets of adapters - cannot get more than 1 MB anywhere that it's plugged it. That's about 1/4 the wifi speed I'm trying to improved. Trying to get good internet access 60 feet from the router.
Pros: If it works, it is great. Put a LAN connection where I needed it. Very easy to setup - plug and play.
Cons: I ordered 2 sets (4 units) and 1 was DOA. Did not power up. Now I have to deal with return/replacement/etc. Luckily I don;t need the 4th one right away. But a big pain nonetheless. Also, the utility doesn't always find the devices. More times than not, it doesn't. Not a big deal as they are plug-...
