Worked fine at First but only 4 months later...

Kenneth L., Newegg
31 March 2014
  • Summary: I've had this for 4 months. I had no speed issues while gaming (which I do a lot of). Noticed a month or two ago that I started dropping the connection to my router every once in a while. No big deal, that happens sometimes right?
  • Pros: Works like a USB adapter SHOULD work….
  • Cons: Only worked like a USB adapter SHOULD work for 4 months….

good OOTB support in Linux, dismal range.

J. Houle, Amazon
19 March 2012
  • Summary: On 5GHz spectrum: The TTWE-664UB Very low transmit power, even when accounting for the distance limits of the spectrum. Had an SNR of 8 at a medium distance from the router in a noisy environment. In the same location, the free dongle that came with my LG TV had an SNR in the high 20s.

  • Summary: Didn't work so fast as I imagine. Two floors house and the speed conection was very low. Could be a good option close to the hardwares.

Two Stars for Two Bars

  • Summary: I purchased this for a PC with an Ubuntu (Linux) operating system. I should have done better research; Trendnet doesn't provide drivers for Linux. I did eventually find a driver that worked for the 2.4 Ghz band, but it didn't work well... or so I thought.

Not that great

Al, Amazon
5 July 2010
  • Summary: My router is on the second floor of the house and I bought this hoping to receive better signal than the existing adapter in my 2 years old laptop. With the 2.4 band, I was able to get 130 Mbps on my existing adapter, with this is one the signal was not getting above 50 Mbps at the same location.

Worked great for a while...then died

Dave D., Newegg
6 September 2009
  • Pros: Brought my 1st-gen MacBook Pro (which has well-known problems with its internal WiFi) back from the wireless dead.
  • Cons: After two months, it just crapped out - the green light failed to go on when it was plugged in - I think it wasn't getting power. Stopped working on all the other machines I tested it on too. It was a great adapter, now it's just a waste of $45 and TrendNet's RMA process is just atrocious.
