Summary: Do yourself a favor and choose a different card! Dealing with this was frustrating enough even before the so called 'tech support' escalated the frustration. I ended up telling her "Thanks you for your help but I'll simply return this to Newegg and get another manufacturer's card."
Pros: Cheap (But you get what you pay for!)
Cons: Did not work at all on the first day. After 3 hours of frustration I called TRENDnet tech to have them tell me, "You need to connect this device to another computer to test it." WHAT? Sure, I always keep a spare computer sitting around to test cheap network card. The car never recognized a wirele...
Summary: Great product, great price. Albeit I have only seen max speeds of 56mbps indicated during use. Still I have not experienced any clear lag or overall delay when using this Wifi stick. Also it is recognized and fully functional with Linux.
Excerpt: I thought I might have to buy a new computer but after describing my problem to a pro at B&H, he informed me all I needed was a new adapter. He chose a relatively inexpensive one and he was right. Condition cured! The piece is great and so's the pro at B&H.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fast, Fast Connection Speed, Reliable connection, Secure Connection
Excerpt: I went to B&H to get a usb adapter for my home computer. The people in B&H helped me a lot didn't know what I was buying but before I left I not only knew what I was buying but how it worked and why thank you B&H for all your help .If I go to buy some other electronic hardware or soft ware I will go...
Pros: As long as you plug in the adapter first then go to System properties then Device manager and update the driver from the disc it works. Do not load the software off the disc first then try to use it because it will not work. This is with windows 7 64bit...im not sure about the other operating sys...
Cons: Software did not work for me at all from the disc or the website.
Summary: I bought this not expecting much, but it was relatively inexpensive so I gave it a go. My laptop is a HP Envy sleekbook with a touchscreen. I don't like it. It is slow and heavy. The wifi was the worst part of the device though. It would fluctuate from 1 to 4 bars constantly.
Summary: Simply put, It works great. I have tested it on laptops that have wireless cards and it outperforms them in every way. My son uses this for his gaming rig which has to pass through a few walls and he has no issues at all.
