Wireless Router, TigerDirect.com
11 October 2011
  • Summary: TRENDnet TEW-432BRP Wireless G Router Everytime I want to use my computer I have to go to the router, unplug the power cord, and plug it in again to get it to pick up the internet signal. I will be replacing it ASAP. I hope I can return it...

signal on and off

Youmaker, TigerDirect.com
4 June 2011
  • Summary: TRENDnet TEW-424UB USB Wireless Network Adapter I can install the driver and utility, but the connection between this adapter and router gets on and off every few seconds. I tried it in two computers, 2K and XP, both showed the same situation -- connect and disconnect intermittently.

Not bad... just not very good either

I can't believe I need a "real" name to post this, Amazon
16 January 2011
  • Summary: This router is a great value if you're in a hurry to get things set up on a budget. That being said, it only lasts about 6 months before going totally nonresponsive... (as in, you can no longer access the router from your computer... the only feature that works is auto setup. So your router will continue to transmit a signal.. unsecured... so if you're fine with your neighbors using your broadband to stream netflix, this is the router for you. If not, read on.

at the end is good

Mr. Carlos F. Benitez-quiroz, Amazon
17 September 2010
  • Summary: This router is no so good at the beginning, it comes with a really old firmware that was disconnecting the only one laptop around it every 10 minutes, I had to update and know is working as advertised.

Cheap router that does its job

Radjago, Amazon
11 September 2009
  • Summary: I bought this router a few years back for $[...] after rebates from CompUSA. Mine is a C1 revision model. I've kept up on firmware updates and tweaked my configuration. I've got 5 wireless devices and 3 wired devices hooked into it. It's worked fine in the past, but now it requires a reboot nearly every day or else it drops the connection speed to dismal levels.

works well but setup needs a lot to be desired

John Boysen, Amazon
16 May 2009
  • Summary: Compared to a linksys router this one was a little harder to setup. I had to call support to get it going. The security was different and it comes with a utility that is more of a hinderance than a help. Once I got it going it works like a champ. Only other negative is that for some reason my powerline adapters are not getting the speed they were getting with linksys.

TRENDnet 54Mbps Wireless G Broadband Router

HarryMohan, Rate it all!
25 October 2008
  • Summary: This product works fine just like every router! The reason why I choose this over Linksys was that I was getting for $9.99 after $25 rebate. But guess what the rebate was valid till 08/31 I bought it like on 08/25 and I sent the buy.com receipt(dated 08/25). The condition was it should reach them before Oct 1st or at-least it should have been post marked.

Cannot assign static IP's by MAC

shameless libertarian, Amazon
28 August 2008
  • Summary: I returned this router since it could not assign static local IP addresses based on a MAC address of a wireless game adapter or other wireless client. For most people this probably doesn't matter. But if you want to do port forwarding for something like a slingbox or game server, this router simply won't do the job.

all right and cost efficient

Graybear "graybear", Amazon
22 February 2006
  • Summary: It was easy to set up when I did not choose to enable security features. But be sure to read the manual if you have no wireless router setup experiences. However, it seemed to me WEP (wired equivalent privacy) did not work. I had to choose WPA-PSK, which is technically a better choice. It was very painful for me to set it up. I eventually had to upgrade all my wireless adapter's driver and configuration utility, and give up Microsoft's wireless zero configuration.
