Summary: Bought this unit for an older computer running Windows 98SE and it was advertised as being able to work for this application but nothing I did could make it work. The unit was returned with full refund.

Summary: I tried this card with Ubuntu and Windows XP SP3. Both have the same issue. The system will begin cycling, attempting to connect to your wireless network over and over, even after it has been connected awhile. This will cause your system to lock up and freeze for 2-10 seconds periodically. Eventually your system will hard freeze completely or just reboot itself. Unfortunately this behavior is well known online.
Summary: The software for this adapter was not compatable with windows XP, but I loaded it anyway and had serious software issues as a result. I couldnt even delete this software from my computor. My computor will have to be reformatted it order to make it workable again. My son tried loading the software into his windows vista computor. It was supposed to be compatable with windows vista, but he had serious problems also.
Summary: This is a good adapter for an old computer. If you use it everyday it will connect right away. If you don`t use it everyday you have to hit the repair button and it fixes it right away.I gave it a five because it works really good.I would buy another if this one went out.
Summary: I bought this card for two reasons: 1. It supposedly has excellent Linux support, at least as of Ubuntu 10.10. 2. I was using a tiny little USB wifi adapter through 1 story of my house and a couple walls. I thought I could increase my network performance. I never tried #1 because I booted into Windows 7 first. #2 was a complete failure. The signal quality on this is simply AWFUL.
Summary: I believe to truly review a product, the purchaser needs to use it for at least 6 months. I am writing this review at the 10 month mark. This product was never really great to begin with. This card can not handle continuous wifi signals. It breaks it down into chunks. If you want to see this for yourself, test it by doing a broadband speed test using speedtest.net. You will see for yourself just how uneven the downloads and uploads are.
