Summary: I recently bought this TRENDnet Micro-Bluetooth adapter to use on my Toshiba laptop, which has an internal Bluetooth adapter that I have never been able to get working. I had also used another external Bluetooth adapter, but it was a bit bulky and I wanted something less obtrusive that I could keep connected to the USB 3 port without having to worry about it getting damaged.

Summary: I bought this to work with MotionJoy on my laptop. For that, it does indeed work great. My only criticism is the construction of the device. You have to be VERY careful when pulling it out of the USB port. The main body of the device is not well attached to the metal USB sleeve/pin guard and the two will separate easily.
Summary: The provided software isn't worth much... Finally got it to work on my desktop. All I wanted to do is connect to a portable bluetooth speaker to carry around the house. "..distances up to 100 ft..." DEPENDING on the device AND (the key word is...) "UP TO". It may not reach that far at all, nearly that far! My android phone & tablet with built in bluetooth are SO SUPERIOR, and SO much easier to hook up to!
Summary: The TRENDnet Bluetooth adapter worked great once I got the correct driver installed for it. The accompanying CD contains the manual and BlueSoleil software, but no dedicated drivers. Based on other reviews, I figured that the BlueSoleil wasn't needed (or wanted) in Windows 8, so I didn't install it just for a driver. After some experimenting, I found the Windows 8 built-in driver for the Generic Bluetooth Radio, which needs installed manually, works just fine.
Summary: Bought it to pair DS3 with PC games. Product passed range test to about 40 feet with and without wall interference, though i should mention that sometimes I experience signal drops less than 10 feet. This is rare but it does occur. Also I regularly pair 2 DS3s but this could support up to 4. Was previously using motionjoy but now I have moved up to XInput Wrapper which is more functional, offline and also lets you control the mouse in desktop mode.
Summary: I have an old laptop running windows 8.1 that I use for presentations almost entirely. The problem with being old is the audio connector broke. So decided to give this small BT adapter a try. I had to download the software from trendnet.com because the enclosed disk doesn't come with software for windows 8.1. After I downloaded and installed the software, I plugged in the dongle and then could connect to my BT speaker. Almost simple.
Recommend IOGEAR - Bluetooth 4.0 USB Micro Adapter instead

Summary: I could not get this to work. I tried following the instructions. I tried calling TRENDnet customer service. I tried reading all the 1 star Amazon reviews for help. No matter what I tried, I could not get it to work. However, when I tried to set up IOGEAR - Bluetooth 4.0 USB Micro Adapter, it happened for me real easy on the first attempt kind of a no-brainer.
