Recommend IOGEAR - Bluetooth 4.0 USB Micro Adapter instead

Amazon Customer Since the 1990's "hyper-obser..., Amazon

  • Summary: I could not get this to work. I tried following the instructions. I tried calling TRENDnet customer service. I tried reading all the 1 star Amazon reviews for help. No matter what I tried, I could not get it to work. However, when I tried to set up IOGEAR - Bluetooth 4.0 USB Micro Adapter, it happened for me real easy on the first attempt kind of a no-brainer.

  • Summary: As a software engineer, I figured it out but it's somewhat misleading - and many have reported problems as a result. It does what it says it does. I use it as a bluetooth audio devices so I can use off the shelf mobile headsets while gaming or using skype, etc. I didn't bother with the included CD, just downloaded the drivers from trendnet, (Search for TBW-106UB) By default, the audio device is pairing in a muted state.

Range is ok, requires additional software to work properly.

  • Summary: You have to use BlueSoleil for this to work right for audio. Range is "meh". Not bad for the price it was when I bought it, but I'd go for one with a larger, external antenna next time. I wander outside of my shop bay and all and the signal drops badly.

TRENDnet Micro-Bluetooth USB 3.0 Adapter

Barry J Bolling, Amazon
6 June 2014
  • Summary: I returned these for a full refund. These are very poor product/hardware. Most bluetooth dongles for Windows are junk and these are no exception; there is one brand that works with WIN7 and BOSE ... this TRENDnet Micro-Bluetooth USB 3.0 Adapter is NOT it.

  • Summary: description is a lie this is not a usb 3.0 its 2.0 and the software that comes with it to work is a joke. in order for this work properly you have to buy a new software version so. i acually can't say how well this adapter is which is my point..

Well, it works...

KQ6HD, Amazon
22 May 2014
  • Summary: The unit is a very tight fit in USB port. Be very careful when inserting it. The first one that I received worked at first, but then suddenly started getting warning messages about Device (Bluetooth) not working. I turned it off and when I removed it, it was extremely hot. Amazon quickly replaced it - no charges at all - shipping, return/refund, and the new one came in a few days. Basically it works fine connecting my ipad, iphone, and mouse to my Intel computer.

Product does not work properly

Xen, Amazon
18 May 2014
  • Summary: Would not recommend this product because I've had many issues after installing the TrendNet Micro-Bluetooth device driver. Product does not work properly. After installation on my computer, the device is locked and works as a demo version due to the fact that my new late model computer does not recognize the device and keeps requesting Key Code when it was entered properly during the step by step device driver installation.
