Summary: If buying today, I would probably look for a faster device.
Pros: I picked this device up when I was getting 2 bars on my laptop about 2 years ago. I got an additional bar and much better reception. About a year ago I put it on a newer laptop where the builtin adapter was doing very badly. Again, it came through like a champ.
Cons: You do need a place to plug this in where it is not in the way or subject to bumping.
Summary: I had no idea that pc's could use the small CD s like the game cube. Kinda blew my mind, never used them before lol.
Pros: Small and cheap. That's what I needed. I normally use wired connnections on a desktop I built. I was going to add an inyeral card but the slots were covered by the graphics card. I had been using an old laptop to use the wireless network. Since it broke completely this was the replacment.
Excerpt: This is not a good product for gaming at all. It is constantly disconnecting and having terrible jumping ping no matter how close it is to the router. Will be replacing or refunding this product and definitely not recommending to anyone.
Summary: I only wish that every device was a cost-effective as this one.
Pros: This device works perfectly out of the box. It makes a vast difference when streaming HD video and allows excellent signal capture in areas that were previously dying/dead. I have used this with power-line networking. I have been using this device for about 18 months, and I currently have 6 of them.
Summary: I found the workarounds in a Maximum PC article, to reset the BIOS to make IT Legacy friendly! GREAT, I thought. I changed all of the settings they recommended. Also tried some drivers designed for Windows 8.1 but for different but similar devices NOTHING WORKED.
Pros: This is NOT actually a review but a warning! I go to Europe every year and and use my cousins Wifi that is like 300-400 from my house. I bought a similar wfi unit as this one, a receiver/extender, 4 years ago and it ALWAYS worked great. So good that I bought a second one for my wife to use over h...
Cons: I thought NO PROBLEM =. HOWEVER, these devices I have been using do NOT WORK with Windows 8.1 or the NEW BIOS that manufactures are coming out with TODAY!! I researched and found 1. the drivers will NOT work with Windows 8 (old drivers worked great for XP and Win 7 but NONE for Win 8! Also they h...
