Summary: You get what you pay for. It would not work properly, regardless of how I tried to set it up. The software would not work properly when connected for manual setup. I Wasted several hours. I am tech-savvy, so no, it wasn't my incompetence, it's just a poor product.
Excerpt: I had high hopes for this unit judging from the product description and the reported ease of installation and 24/7 tech support. I was on the telephone 3 separate times with their support staff and was never able to get the unit activated.
Summary: I have tried for over a month to make this work, but it continues to create conflicts with my Verizon router. Tp-link's customer service personnel were not helpful. I even hired a college IT person, but he was unable to make it work. I should have given up sooner and returned it.

Summary: I used two of these, one as a base station and one as a range extender. I tried following the wizards, and got it to work but had some trouble. The documentation was poor (that's being nice) and these devices continued to just quit working after some time.
Summary: I am continually having problems with the TP-Link setup. I bought a wireless router and extender, but they constantly "lose their mind", and we have to power cycle either just the extended (Daily at a minimum) or both (maybe once a week).
