  • Summary: You get what you pay for. It would not work properly, regardless of how I tried to set it up. The software would not work properly when connected for manual setup. I Wasted several hours. I am tech-savvy, so no, it wasn't my incompetence, it's just a poor product.

  • Summary: I had trouble to make it work in the beginning and was thinking to return it. However, after I fondled it a little and repositioned it close to the router, it seemed working alright, but I noticed that the overall speed is somehow lower. This is still a good buy.

Try another brand

  • Excerpt: I had high hopes for this unit judging from the product description and the reported ease of installation and 24/7 tech support. I was on the telephone 3 separate times with their support staff and was never able to get the unit activated. Unfortunately, their staff had such a difficult time communicating in English that they were severely hindered from helping me.
  • Cons: Difficult to Hook Up

  • Summary: Using it to boost the Internet signal from the house to a metal shop garage about 100 feet away. Able to receive a great signal inside the building even though there's no windows. Setup was actually pretty easy though I had to call support due to my own ignorance. Support was extremely patient and helpful and resolved the problem quickly, which was my own error.

  • Summary: I installed the TP Link Range Extender to boost wifi signal between my home and guest house. It picked up the router signal and my computer connected to it on the first try. I would recommend.

  • Pros: Looks nice. Good price.
  • Cons: Will not connect to my network.

Does not work

Andrew S., Newegg
26 November 2013
  • Summary: After 2+ hours of configuring and reconfiguring and re-reconfiguring this device, I could not get it to connect to my wireless network. I tried using the WPA button, I tried connecting it to my PC and logging on to the extender, nothing worked. I tried calling tech support and explaining to them that I had tried configuring it both ways, but I couldn't understand through their accent what they were saying. They got rather rude with me and hung up.
  • Pros: Looks nice. Good price.
  • Cons: Will not connect to my network.
