  • Summary: This device is pain to set up. The only way to set it up is through putting 192.168.0.254 in the URL . After about 60 times I tried to access that address. I finally got it, but when I followed the steps to install it. IT DID NOT update the network . It just keep sending me back to the beginning.

  • Summary: This did not say in the Description that it needed another Device in order to work. I did not become aware that it was to Serve Game Systems Until AFTER I bought it. . I thought it was to Enhance a Signal for my computer ... So I could get better Reception here in my small town.

Multiple SSID useless: no isolation

Alan B., Newegg
9 August 2014
  • Pros: Inexpensive and easy to configure
  • Cons: I setup a vlan for a guest network and connected my laptop to it. In sniffing the network, I find that I see traffic for both the vlan *and* the base lan the the vlan is running on. Not even considering the security implications, this causes the laptop to pick up the wrong ipv6 network when autoc...

Do not purchase until they resolve its issues.

Kristina Weller, Amazon
6 June 2014
  • Summary: Worked great at first and easy to set up. After a couple months with it needing infrequent reboots, it became necessary to cycle the power more frequently. This became an every day to 2 day event. Now that I'm working at home, i have to do it 5 to 6 times a day.

Caps out at 2 connected devices

Dustin A., Newegg
7 May 2014
  • Summary: I purchased this AP primarily to grant wireless access when having people over - all my other devices are hard wired into my network. But once two devices are connected, nothing else will connect. Totally unacceptable behavior from an Access Point.
  • Pros: Flashy lights. Seems to work. Acceptable interface.
  • Cons: When I first purchased this Access Point it worked reasonably well - slow, but multiple devices could connect to it. Now it has decided to cap out at a maximum of two connected devices at once, and the only way to get a 3rd connected is to power cycle the Access Point - but then of course one of ...

TP-Link shouldn't be in the wireless business

Arthur Corliss, Amazon
19 April 2014
  • Summary: I tried using this as my primary WAP in the house and its performance was abysmal. I have a noisy RF environment to begin with, but even my old Netgear 802.11g WAG-102 WAP provided more reliable service. In the end, you get what you pay for, and in this case, even less.

Pretty much DOA

Anonymous, Newegg
16 July 2013
  • Summary: At t his point, a piece of junk. Will contact Newegg about a replacement. Very disappointed in this but stuff happens - not all producs are 100%. However, my irritation right now is at TP-Link for their basic lack of support and what I consider a non-customer service oriented attitude.
  • Pros: Looks nice.
  • Cons: Pretty much DOA. Would not connect to my network. Tried different (known good) cables, changed location, etc. - lights just blink on and off. Even tried a reset - nothing - wouldn't even reset. Nothing in the manual or FAQs online. Called tech support - sorry too busy - call back later - hng up o...
