Summary: First off, this product *does* allow you to get a device on a wired network extremely quickly. It is literally plug and play! What's more, at times the speeds are even nearly as good as wired speeds (for me, Fast Ethernet/100Mbit). However, in my installation, the limitations start whenever I am trying to do more than one thing at a time over the network.
Summary: I've been using these for a while, and I have been fairly happy with them. Recently, 2 of my 3 units have died within 2 months of each other. One day I lost my network connection and noticed that all of the lights on my adapter were off. The unit was dead. I contacted TP-Link's support, and they offered no solutions other than: > The device is faulty. So please contact the retailer where you buy it to do the replacement.
Summary: I received the TP-Link Powerline Adapter (TL-PA211 STARTER KIT) today (July 10th 2012), I bought them because my wife was complaining about the WiFi range and speed in some areas at home, so my goal was to get more speed in that places where the WiFi do not covered well. The installation was just plug and play, you just have to connect one to your router (cable included), and plugged it into the power outlet, and the other one in the power outlet where you need to get...
Conclusion: They have a place but You can't get 200mbps or even 100mbps My house rewired about 10 years back so quite modern. Best speed I got 30-40mbps and reading around that's about what most get ( the rest get less ;) ). Now up to 200mbps? how? they only come with 10/100 ethernet ports (I should have read the specs).
