Summary: Update- I don't know what Amazon did, but to be clear, my review is for the "TL-PA211 STARTER KIT" which has two 200 Mbps adapters. Seems this product is that one, but the heading is totally incorrect at the moment! I bought the adapters from Amazon marketplace seller Flytec Computers in Miami and they had a great price and excellent customer service.
They work, but no way do these work for streaming HD Video
25 September 2014
Summary: These are plug & play but: - Even when placed on the same curcuit breaker/line under 300 meters will they are NOT fast enough to stream HD video. - I placed them in several outlets and even tested on same wire from breaker panel to ensure both devices were on the same wire which is under the advertised 300 meters and the best I could get was 40-60% signal quality and 100MBPS - not 200MBPS as advertised.
Summary: I bought this for my brother as a birthday present and now I'm the cool sis. His 2-story house has his modem and router upstairs, but he needed internet feed downstairs for his TV and he's worried enough about hackers that he refuses to go wireless. Running cable or this solution were our only options. He called to report 1) it had arrived, 2) it was installed (in 5 minutes) and 3) it was working even better than he'd imagined.
Summary: I was very impressed with the performance of this product. It is extremely easy to install, just plug in to two outlets on the same electrical circuit press one pair button, then press the other (don't make the same mistake as I did, only press the pair button for about 5 seconds on each unit, otherwise the units will reset). The units synced very quickly and then I was good to go! I am getting a very fast throughput, much quicker than wi-fi.
Summary: These come with a 2 year warranty. I had three set up on my network. One died 20 days out of the warranty. Actually, I just happened to notice it was dead today, so in reality it died sometime in the last month, but in any event, we are just out of warranty. The unit is completely dead - no more lights. It is not worth my time to try to get a warranty repair, as I think there is a 1% chance they will do anything for me.
Summary: I've been using these for a while, and I have been fairly happy with them. Recently, 2 of my 3 units have died within 2 months of each other. One day I lost my network connection and noticed that all of the lights on my adapter were off. The unit was dead. I contacted TP-Link's support, and they offered no solutions other than: > The device is faulty. So please contact the retailer where you buy it to do the replacement.
Worked fine for a year, then died a total and sudden death, but TP-LINK was awesome!

Summary: This worked well for a year, and then died a sudden and total death. None of the status lights light up, and the unit is a brick. So I am giving 2 stars for the untimely demise. Replaced it with their Nano AV200 product which worked well, but now have to deal with TP-Link warranty service, which starts with a phone call to Asia, and them taking my name and number to get back to me.
