Did the job

BENJAMIN B., Newegg
28 January 2015
  • Pros: I needed to boost the signal on a workstation that had a wireless card buried behind a desk. This one did the trick. I don't think you can find an 8dBi antenna for less.
  • Cons: Cable is a bit short, but just long enough.

External antenna WIFI

Jeff S., Newegg
21 December 2014
  • Summary: These are for 2.4 GHZ band not 5 GHZ so beware of that
  • Pros: Works great very sturdy and strong magnets improved my bars from 3 to 5 great that's what I wanted. I purchased two of them this works great better than a two port one that I had tried from another adapter. You can space them as needed to get better reception.
  • Cons: No cons

  • Summary: having the wireless router and modem on the first floor and my desktop on the second floor I was lucky if I would be able to get 2 bars out of my wireless connection with everything plugged in to my desktop.
  • Pros: Works, well weighted, magnet on bottom can become handy when used.
  • Cons: Does not increase my modems speed, but I guess that is fine since its not intended too.

Boosted my connection

Michael O., Newegg
19 April 2014
  • Pros: I paired this with a TP-Link wireless adapter that was starting to go in and out of connection with a router only 20 feet away from my computer. This made the 1-2 bar connection go to 5 bars when the antenna is in the right direction. The magnetic base is awesome as well. I've mounted this upside...
  • Cons: Some may be put off by how large this antenna is

  • Summary: This product did nothing to improve the wifi signal in my house. I tried different locations, heights etc and nothing worked. I tested it with my tv, ipad and iphone and saw no improvement on any of these items. The antenna was used with my fios router.

Great Buy

Charles T., Newegg
30 December 2013
  • Pros: Significantly increased wi-fi signal reception. I live in a 2,000sqft home with my router on one side of the house and my computer on the other (not an ideal setup, I know). This antenna took my signal from 2 bars with random drops to a solid 5 bars. Upgraded a 4dbi antenna on an older TP-Link ad...
  • Cons: No real cons. A longer cord would have been nice but they can be bought separately.

Noticeable Improvement

Bub L., Newegg
1 December 2013
  • Pros: Great bang for the buck. Improves Wi-Fi reception noticeably.
  • Cons: Minor quib -- the included cable is thin and unshielded. It feels very fragile. OK if you are not yanking on the antenna.

  • Summary: I bought this antenna to boost my wireless signal from Clear Internet. I live in a crowded city area with tall buildings that prevents clear signals sometimes. I have noticed a significant difference since using this antenna.

Ben D., Newegg

  • Pros: Works exactly as advertised--much better signal strength as compared to my 2 dBi antenna. The base is nice and hefty so it's not easily knocked around.
  • Cons: none
