Works precisely as intended

Daniel D., Newegg
20 June 2014
  • Summary: Some people seem to expect this and other antennas like it to be miracle workers. They're not, nor should anyone expect them to be. In other words, don't expect to go from having no signal to a full signal.
  • Pros: Windows 7 was reporting "Good" signal strength (3/5 bars) using the included antenna on my TL-WN781ND wireless adapter. Switching to this antenna boosted the signal to "Excellent" (5/5 bars). The 5dBi gain versus the 2dBi gain of the original antenna likely would have been enough, but the magnetic base also allowed me to put this antenna in a better location than the back of the computer where the original was located.
  • Cons: The only possible con I can see with this product is that the antenna is not removable from the base. This means that you cannot put the antenna directly on a wireless card, but in most cases it's better off not to locate the antenna there anyway.

  • Summary: I purchased this item in hopes of getting tv signal in my house. When I received the item the instructions were in Spanish or some other language. I already have another antenna and so I knew I had to simply screw it on to the tv but when I went to do just that the part on the tv was extra small and did not fit. I had to return it. I would not.recommened this product to anybody.

  • Summary: Definitly improved ability of my desktop to connect to base. The built-in antenna was on the back of the computer, using this product allowed me to put the antenna up higher and in line-of-sight to the base.

After 3 of them I'm impressed

Robin A., Newegg
29 June 2012
  • Summary: I have 3 of these the first one was when we were borrowing my neighbors wifi, then we got the second with a new NIC . The difference between upstairs (plugged directly into the router) and down stairs (wifi) is NONE. Third one was for the kids computer when one of them broke the USB NIC, and we used an old PCI NIC. Well 40 feet away and through 3 walls and a brick fire place the antenna it had didn't cut it, this did!
  • Pros: Took a signal from an average router and made the differences between no (or hardly any) reception to amazing or surprising reception.
  • Cons: Next day shipping with rush processing wasn't free.

Worse signal than stock

Vlad R., Newegg
21 October 2011
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: I have an Encore router which has a stock 2dbi antennae. My attempt to upgrade to this one which is rated 5dbi resulted in degradation of signal to all my devices.
