Excerpt: It comes with a network cord so you can try to configure it by direct connection. It is only about 3 feet long, so be close. I didn't have much luck getting it to configure as a repeater with it, so decided to try to do it WiFi. It configured the first time fairly easy, but it didn't last.
Summary: In repeater mode, the unit can extend the range of the WiFi network, but it repeats on the same channel as the AP. if too close to the AP, it may degrade performance. at least it did in our case where we were trying to extended between floors.
Excerpt: The product is just okay. When it works, it works great. But it looses signal often. Frequently my iPAD tells me I have no wifi. Then I have to plug and re-plug it into the wall outlet to regain wireless signal. This happens even when it's hardwired to a router.
Summary: Works great! Phone support is the best from StarTech if your unsure how to program this repeater. They walked me through each step until it was done. I bought this to extend my wifi to the far end of my 2 story house. My signal strength went from good to excellent.
Summary: Fairly easy to set up and works great on a daily basis. Advice: after setup SAVE your configuration to the WFREPEAT300N for reloading purposes (faster than going through setup a 2nd time). Also CHANGE the default password BEFORE you setup/enable access point/repeater.
Summary: I only wish I could give this product a zero (or perhaps minus!) rating as it was impossible to figure out and BT provides technical support only during extremely limited work hours that do not work to help me figure out the setup.
