Summary: First card lost it's connection to any RF signal after 20 minutes of operation. Returned, and the second card dropped off the RF network intermittently. Switched to different access points, tried a static IP, nothing worked. Caveat emptor.

Summary: The only consistent thing about this card is that it isnt. Mind you, I am not asking it to do much; I have 15Mbps dl speed. This could not even achieve that on a regular basis. It constantly either disconnected from the router which is a 20 foot direct line of sight, or would slow the connection to unbearable speeds, yet, a laptop 2 feet away got full connection. I have a feeling that the numerous positive reviews were padded with unconfirmed buyers.
Summary: This wireless card is great, and connects me to my router at the speed my Internet connection is. I thought it would be a bottleneck in the connection speed, but this is definitely not the case! You have to install the driver for the card first before the link light will turn on, and before the system will recognize the card, but these are minor installation issues. The other reviews for this product were very helpful in the installation procedure.
... found time after time that StarTech accessories are an excellent bang for you buck

Summary: As an IT Manager I have found time after time that StarTech accessories are an excellent bang for you buck. I replaced an older Wifi card on a laptop with this and went from 1-3Mb to close to 50Mb (the limit of our Internet pipe and NOT the wifi adapter). This little guy is connecting at close to 250 Mbps at a range of about 40 feet. Nice!
Summary: I bought this card for an older dual core AMD system I had sitting in a different room than my router so that I could get it on my home network and also use it as an Internet machine. So far it has worked without any problems (Windows 7). The dual antennas seem to give better signal strength than the old wireless card I was previously using: the connection is stronger and I get a decent ping when gaming.
