Summary: I paid very little for this, and am surprised that its even cheaper now. Even at the the price I paid it was a steal. The signal strength is a little low in the room next to the router so it isn't great for long range.
Pros: Does what it's designed to do. Works with Windows 8.
Summary: I don't know if I just was the bad one out of the bunch or what, but I don't think I'll be purchasing another one from Rosewill.
Pros: This adapter boosted me up form 3 bars to full bars across my house. Not only that but I was seeing 5 to 6 other wireless networks in my neighborhood I've never seen. Performed really well....
Cons: Until about 4 weeks in, a month. This glorious contraption spurted it's last breath and died on me. The base was receiving power, but the indicator light on the adapter would't go on. I treated it right, all i did was find an optimal position for it and left it there. Then all off a sudden, today, the thing died on me. It won't even show up on my Device Manager. Not even sure if it's worth returning.
Summary: This is a great piece of hardware! The adapter was immediately recognized without issue. In fact, I was able to connect to the internet during the Windows 7 install with this. Truly plug and play. The range/signal also impress. There's a floor and a wall between my PC and my router, and this adapter still gives me a 5 bar connection. Last, but not least, the price! $13 shipped to Hawaii? That's amazing in my book. I'm completely satisfied with this purchase.
Summary: This Wireless card is great for my needs. It is much more reliable than my old usb card. I use it in my HP Compaq dx7500 and it works great. The included low profile brackets are nice for anybody with a slim pc. I did not need these though in my situation. I took off a star because this card receives 3 out of 5 bars in windows 7 when my router is right across the hall. This may be normal, but i just think it should get better signal than that.
