  • Hi, My sister's home interior was destroyed by water this week.

Can you give me a list of essential wireless equipment that includes security (home intrusion,) media (x-box, movies, games) routers, etc. she will need to get things back to normal. Like to do this while the walls are open. thanks, Val

  • wireless connection drops in and out

I have a Linksys WRT54G2 wireless router and a Linksys WMP54G wireless network card for desktop. Both were easy to install and set up. The problem is that with an 89% signal strength, my connection still seems to come and go.My internet is fine since since my primary computer is plugged directly into the wireless modem and there are no issues. Someone told me the problem with the second computer might be the fact that it is in an older part of the house that has plaster walls with wire mesh which they say would cause interference. Any other experiences or suggestions out there? Maybe a firmware update?

  • wireless card

Can i remove the wireless card from my notebook, and install it in my desktop pc?

  • Is it normal for wireless signal strength to vary by the second?

I have a simple netgear wireless router. I find that the wireless signal detected by laptops etc varies from excellent to nil and drops out every few minutes. This means that any VPN session I am using has to be restarted every few minutes. Is this normal and can I do anything about it?
