Summary: I agree with other reviewers who complain about the difficulties of setup. Once done, the product works well. But the hassle of the installation should be a consideration. In my case, this included two hour-plus calls to tech support that ended up with disconnects as I tried to escalate to a more knowledgeable person. The trouble comes in getting the connection secured with your router. Would I buy this product again?
Excerpt: My internet speed is 10 60 MB. WIFI router is located in downstairs. Upstairs far end corner signle is not strong, and the WIFI speed in that room was 3-6 MB. I read a lot of reviews on this unit noticed that most of complains were about the installation. I am an computer engineer, the installation will not a problem for me. So I bought this unit and hoped it might help. After installed the unit, (Very easy to install by the way.

Summary: Installation was pretty easy. It has worked well in the areas farthest from my wireless router. I had Netgear Genie already installed on my PC, but I did have to play with it a little bit to get it to see the wireless unit correctly since the instructions in the booklet and online didn't quite match my Netgear Genie screen images.

Summary: I used this to extend to my shop, which is 175 feet behind the house, so this was the least expensive option. Setup takes some time as do most thing with networking. The wifi works great and the settings allow you to use the same wifi network settings as the house, therefore a seamless transition for devices or create a new wifi network. The connection to the house is sketchy (looses internet) at times for reasons I cannot figure out (perhaps the distance of wire).
Excerpt: The unit works great, it was easy to set up. I hooked it up as a wifi remote. My desktop is too far from the main router. I also wanted my desktop to be wireless, so I could use the wireless printer that I have in the office.
Summary: Overall I really like this system. It has been more reliable and cost effective verses purchasing a new WIFI router due to my router only supporting up to wireless G. It is also a great way to avoid dead spots in the home when you are running WIFI.
Pros: This is an excellent choice to use if you do not have CAT5 available for long distances or do not desire to run CAT5 across your home. This is a better solution in my opinion than running WIFI.
Cons: I have experienced two cons in 2 years of using this system. The system from time to time needs to get unplugged and rebooted essentially. I would say this occurs once a month to every few months. The Powerline Utility can also get warm at times.
Excerpt: I put it on backwards first (pictures nowithstanding). It did amp up my bars, but I discovered it was my ISP was slow, not the connection. Had some difficulty connecting it to my computer, and I don't know whether that is why the router loses internet or whether I need a new router.
Excerpt: I tried to install this product on my own, but the directions were not clear in how to do so, resulting in my having to pay someone to come to my home and set it up for me...The labor to do so unfortunately cost me as much as the purchase price itself for the device...I paid $95 to have someone come out to my home to install it for me!That said, once finally installed, the product works Excellently, and I am happy about that!
