Summary: This works well for extending a network to the back of my condo. The setup is a little complicated, but once you get it up and running it works well. One thing to note is that I had trouble using it to simply extend my network (not even sure if you can) so I had it create a new network and I just added "Ext" to the name.
Summary: Have a story and a half house, roughly 2500 square feet about ten years old. The reason I mention this is while researching this product I noticed some reviewers mentioned this doesn't work well in large homes(one stated homes >2700 square feet) and homes with old/older wiring(no mention was made of how old). However my computer/router/etc. are upstairs and I have ROKU downstairs. My problem has been trying to get a good signal to the ROKU.
Summary: Using skype a lot, I had difficulties staying connected while sitting in the family room. The Netgear access points created a separate Wi Fi connection point by utilizing the electrical network of the house, which works flawlessly. I highly recommend this item.
Summary: Bought this to have another wi fi access point on the other end of the office. When I connect the base unit to the router and plug it to the power outlet, the wi fi strength of the wireless router increase dramatically. I didn't even have to plug the access point in.
Summary: I am well pleased with this product. The initial thought was deceiving in the instance where the software that came with it made it seem that it would only work on a NetGear router and nothing else, however a little more research proved that wrong. Once I got the install put in place, it was easy to setup when I found the IP address - no issues so far and I definitely works in the residence it is currently being used in.
