Outside of limitations of your home wiring, this product seems to be well optimized

Summary: I tested this product with various configurations and it outperformed the simpler version. My problem was maybe because of the aging home wiring, so I never saw the high bandwidth. Pretty much limited to 64mb/s on this one, versus 45 mb/s with the simpler setup. I returned the product and I am going full wireless.
Summary: No mater where I plug it in to get a better reception, I still get a red light. My home and wiring is 20yrs old and copper. I am a retired electrician and also from Verizon. I am savvy . I just didn't want to run a cable half way through my house through the walls.
Summary: Im using this to stream movies from my PC to my LG bluray player via DNLA most of the time it works as it should, however some times it will not let the player setup its dynamic IP address. I know I could probably specify an address for the player and set it up in the router as well but I don't feel I should have to.
Unit never comes out of sleep and you cannot upgrade firmware from OSX

Summary: After 24 months, I upgraded them from 2 to 3 stars. For some reason, since moving, they do not sleep as much, which was my main complaint. I needed some networking in my apartment and because AT&T had a lock on cable in the building and included free WiFi with their vDSL modems, the WiFi spectrum was saturated to the point of being unusable.
Summary: Very easy installation, but throughput isn't quite what I expected with my home's wiring. 1970s wiring isn't fantastic. It's still a HUGE improvement over my wireless connection though. I'd recommend this for my friends, especially those with newer homes.
