Excerpt: Love the product and saved me tens of hours from having to setup an ethernet line from the back of my client's store to the front. The modem & router was setup in the back but because of the distance to the front of the store, Wi-Fi had a weak signal and kept dropping connection. I setup NETGEAR Powerline in the back and one in the front. Now the front Point-of-Sale system has access to internet.
Excerpt: These are great if you have a computer or TV you need to connect but it's not wireless. For me I have my wireless computer hooked to it because with an Ethernet cable it works faster and a non-smart TV hooked to the other. I've had it for 3 weeks now without any issues.
Excerpt: I bought the 200Mbps Netgear because we have only 12Mbps internet (fastest available at this time for our location) - no point in buying one that offers faster speeds. I checked the speed we are getting with this Netgear using speedtest.net and we're getting 12Mbps.We have a computer at the other end of the house from the router and on the lower floor, so the wireless connection wasn't very good or dependable. A powerline adapter is a good solution to this situation.
Excerpt: frustrated with hooking up a neo-post postage meter I sought out a solution at Staples and found a clerk who knew how to solve the problem. He suggested the above product and it did the trick! Originally I was sent a modem to hook up that was to solve the inability of plugging in a router type cable to an old style phone jack outlet. How do you plug a router cable into a USB port on a modem!
Excerpt: I unpacked the components from the box and plugged them in. Everything worked first try. My purpose was to direct wire my cable modem to my Samsung smart TV so I could use Netflix. The wireless function of the modem was not working well because of kitchen appliances in the path of the signal from the mode to the TV.
Excerpt: So glad we got this. A big media consumer in our household and the wifi wasn't able to hold up to it. This allows my game-player and movie watcher to consumer whatever media he wants without kicking the rest of us off the wifi network.
Summary: Works great for one computer, but they don't make it clear that it must be used on the SAME ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT as the computer, which means it's almost impossible to use if your modem is on a different floor from your computer. It works great when installed properly, but you can only use one per household.
Excerpt: Works well. No problems. Easy to set up. It might get 200Mbps in a very clean environment but in the electrically noisy environment in which it is installed it gets much less. However the speed is more than enough for our purposes. It connects at "medium" speed. Setting up encryption is very easy.
