Summary: I bought two of these WNCE4004 units to replace Netgear WNHDE111 5GHz Entertainment adapters bought years ago, that worked without issue and impressed me with their performance. First, any setup or firmware upgrade has to be done on ethernet, hard wired connection, not WiFi connection. Second, it accepts, only, one network setup, so, you run your settings for your 2.4 GHz network or your 5 GHz network, but not both, or more than, just, one network.
Good enough, it does the job nicely, but for the list price it has, it's expensive. 4 stars only because I got it -new- for 50$

Summary: This wifi + 4-port Ethernet adapter is OK for the job. I would give it 3 stars but I got it for 50$ (new) and so, it's a bargain at that price. NOT at the normal listed price though. First of all, it works. It connects to a R7000 Netgear wireless router without any issues. But I would like to be able to get more WiFi speed. Second thing is that the 4-port Ethernet is Fast Eth (100Mbps) while I would love/need a Gigabit Ethernet.
Connection was not stable enough to support streaming applications

Summary: I purchased this device in order to connect my networked home theater receiver to my network. I have a Denon receiver that has an ethernet port but didn't come with wireless networking built in. Setting up the NETGEAR device was very easy although you will need a computer with a ethernet port in order to perform the initial setup (my MacBook Air laptop doesn't have one but luckily I had a spare Windows laptop that does).

Summary: I had a slight difficulty in establishing connection with my main router as I've enabled mac address filtering on the main router. But once I figured out mac address of Netgear wnce4004, and set it in main router, the connection was established easily. This adapter is working nicely and serving my purpose.
Summary: Got it, unpacked it, connected to my laptop, instantly able to set up for my home wifi, disconnected from laptop and connected my tv, receiver, and bluray, boom... how easy was that.......! now I have all those devices connected to my home network with room for one more device. Note; my home entertainment centre is about 10 metres from the router and no problems at all.

Summary: My wife is in the travel industry and can work from anywhere there is internet. We love camping and her work phone is an IP phone allowing me to connect her anywhere. I needed a way to connect her hardwired phone to a mobile hotspot so we could spend a few weeks at the beach. This was perfect! Turned our mobile phone hotspot on, Plugged the IP phone into it, followed the directions to configure it and camping at the beach while getting paid was great!
N900 will connect your Ethernet router to a local SSID as well.

Summary: I previously used the N300 to connect my ROUTER to a nearby SSID. It worked great for that task -- just as Netgear Customer Service told me it would. However, my Netgear wndr4500 router is Dual Band. So, after a year of using the N300, I replaced it with this N900. It has worked great connecting the 4500 Dual Band router to my local SSID. So, if you're looking for a way to connect to a local SSID via Ethernet to your router, the N900 Dual Band adapter will do the job.
Summary: Used to make my Xbox 360 usable...the built in wifi in the 360 is no good for today's standards. I used this to make my Xbox 360 connect to my windows media center to watch tv and it's perfect. I went to sometimes getting SD playback for a minute or 2, to HD all the time. A big jump. Also I use this for quickly connecting laptops since it's a 4 port hub too...very nice and handy.
Summary: Threw it away because of some inexplicable incompatibility with iTunes. When trying to connect from a remote old Apple TV that has no built-in Wifi through this to my computer which is sharing its library, I cannot load the library. With another wifi bridge, it works fine. Don't know why, gave up trying to get this to work when another brand/model worked right off the bat.
Cons: The wireless adapter keeps kicking me off the network after an hour of usage. My laptop and ipad both are still connected to the internet fine. Not sure if I'll ever consider wireless adapter via Ethernet.
