extender

john, Staples
2 January 2015
  • Excerpt: i thought this would work better than the less expensive version but i was wrong. it works great at times but also drops devices off the network. this is very inconvenient especially when you are in the middle of either sending or receiving data or documents. next time i am going for the cheaper version. then i can always say its because i got a cheaper one instead of an expensive one.

range extender

john, Staples
29 December 2014
  • Excerpt: the range is pretty good but the problem is that it continues to drop and has to be re-booted. sometimes it reboots its self but a majority of times it needs to be manually rebooted. it this continues i will return it. the 200 which this replaced seems to have worked better.Setup and start were very easy and i had hoped it would solve my range issues which it does when its working. I will continue to monitor it and see if it improves.

NOT SO EASY

One who wears many hats!, Staples
15 December 2014
  • Excerpt: So far we have been unable to get the product to work., despite two college educated adults following all of the directions and trying on muliple occasions. It is showing up as a dwonload on the computer, but not syncing with the internet.bHAving spoken to a college aged computer science major kid he says its an easy fix, but until he gets home to do it I am iunsure. We are hopeful that our college aged kids will be able to do when they get home.

... advertised so far but the customer support is really terrible. A note comes inside the box of this ...

Tirra, Amazon
20 July 2014
  • Summary: The unit itself seems to work ok/as advertised so far but the customer support is really terrible. A note comes inside the box of this product telling you to update the firmware. It gives you a web site to go to and a login/password to enter to do this. Except when you go to the website, there is no place log in. There is "live chat" option though. So I clicked on that. A representative came on and asked for my phone number.

Extender

Nancy, Staples
17 July 2014
  • Excerpt: Still not sure it is what I need for my problem. Sometimes my laptop has a signal and other times it takes 5 or more tries. I have had an issue with getting a signal in rooms that are 30' or more away.

Good once Operational

MAM, Staples
23 April 2014
  • Excerpt: I ended up calling technical support to install the device. I am a semi technical person and this is not a unique device. However, I needed a technical support that lead me to remote support costing $39.xx. This will hurt to people with limited budget as the service cost is 50% of the original equipment cost.

good product

James, Staples
2 January 2014
  • Excerpt: Netgear has come through once again. This product was easy to set up, highly compatible, and relatively inexpensive. As always the question you must ask is if you have the square footage necessary to use the extender. More often then not they are an unneeded and misunderstood product. I have always had luck with netgear products, and will continue to purchase there products in the future. Sleek look, easy setup, highly compatable.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up

Just ok

Lori, Staples
6 December 2013
  • Excerpt: It was easy enough to set up. My main purpose for this extender was to be able to have wifi for my IPad in areas of the house where I lose the connection to my wifi. But the extender also seems to lose the connection and I have to press buttons on the router and extender to pick up the wifi again. Very annoying. It sometimes loses the connection while I am using my IPad and requires me to log in again.
  • Pros: Compact, Easy To Set Up
  • Cons: Unreliable

OK product

slee, Staples
4 April 2013
  • Excerpt: it extended our WIFI to the shed but only was able to get 2G NOT 5G. guess inorder to get 5G you have to set it up closer to the original router but then it will not reach the shed where my husband needs it for his business.
