Excerpt: i thought this would work better than the less expensive version but i was wrong. it works great at times but also drops devices off the network. this is very inconvenient especially when you are in the middle of either sending or receiving data or documents.
Excerpt: the range is pretty good but the problem is that it continues to drop and has to be re-booted. sometimes it reboots its self but a majority of times it needs to be manually rebooted. it this continues i will return it.
Excerpt: So far we have been unable to get the product to work., despite two college educated adults following all of the directions and trying on muliple occasions. It is showing up as a dwonload on the computer, but not syncing with the internet.bHAving spoken to a college aged computer science major kid...
Pros: Netgear quality. Fine for extending networks used for email and web surfing.
Cons: Extending BOTH 2.4/5ghz networks works, but you won't be able to stream video. Using the Fastlane technology fixes that problem, BUT you'll end up using both 2.4ghz AND 5ghz radios to do it. As such, the 2.4ghz segment is prone to the normal 2.4ghz interference from microwave ovens, etc. So strea...

Summary: The unit itself seems to work ok/as advertised so far but the customer support is really terrible. A note comes inside the box of this product telling you to update the firmware. It gives you a web site to go to and a login/password to enter to do this.
Excerpt: Still not sure it is what I need for my problem. Sometimes my laptop has a signal and other times it takes 5 or more tries. I have had an issue with getting a signal in rooms that are 30' or more away.
Excerpt: I ended up calling technical support to install the device. I am a semi technical person and this is not a unique device. However, I needed a technical support that lead me to remote support costing $39.xx.
Summary: If I didn't have the apple tv, this would've worked for my situation.
Pros: Did in fact extend my wireless range My laptop worked fine off the extender and I could do anything I needed to - stream HD movies on Netflix, copy files, etc
Cons: Incompatible with Apple TV - it connected fine, but it just would not stream HD movies - everything was choppy and constant time outs, Netflix would never play in HD on apple tv If I didn't have an Apple TV, I think this solution would've worked just fine
Excerpt: Netgear has come through once again. This product was easy to set up, highly compatible, and relatively inexpensive. As always the question you must ask is if you have the square footage necessary to use the extender. More often then not they are an unneeded and misunderstood product.
