Summary: I got this product about a month ago. I give it only three stars because it doesn't come with a disc to install the drivers I needed. The computer I was putting it on is on the other side of the house and was already setup where I wanted it. The only reason I needed the disc is because I am running a fairly old version of windows XP so I ended up having to unhook everything to bring it closer to the router to be able to get online to download the drivers needed.
Summary: I'm sure this is a great product, but I purchased it for use with an older Mac that we've kept around forever for the kids to use. This adapter is incompatible with Mac. If I'd read thoroughly through the comments and questions, I could have seen it, but I didn't so it was my bad.
Summary: The installation program was attempting to communicate with the dongle and could never discover it in the usb slot. After struggling and never maintaining permanent success I ended up buying a Roswell n-150ube for $10 but I do like the little 3-ft usb extension cable so that's nice I guess...
Summary: This adapter does find networks to connect to, but it does not want to connect to my netgear router. It connected to my Windows Vista machine so I do not blame the adapter. Vista can be a pain in the butt sometimes. Will probably be upgrading my computer to Win 7 and see how the adapter does with it. I do like the adapter, just have to do some fine tuning to get it to work correctly on my Vista machine.
Summary: I BOUGHT TWO OF THESE WITHOUT DOING MUCH RESEARCH ON THE DRIVERS FOR THIS DONGLE, THEY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MACINTOSH, THIS IS JUST A WARNING FOR THOSE MAC OWNERS, IM SURE THIS IS A GOOD PRODUCT BY NETGEAR BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE MADE IT MORE UNIVERSAL, HOPE THIS HELPS :)
Summary: I have been using one of these dongles for over a year now as it was bundled with a router, and, while it performs reliably, I would not recommend it. The main problem is with the driver, which uses unintuitive and proprietary Netgear software to configure WLAN connections. The most annoying thing about this software is its constant desire to try and connect to BTOPENZONE-H access points instead of the configured Netgear router.
