Summary: It worked literally straight out of the box. Plugged one unit to the ADSL Router/Hub down in the basement office (which does transmit wirelessly, but not strongly enough to penetrate the basement ceiling reliably), and the other unit upstairs, and there it was - instant wireless networking...
Summary: I am very pleased with my Netgear products. I have a MR814 wireless router, which is installed in my 1860 sq ft condo's lower level between two big "I" beams. These beams suck the power (and range) out of the signal so that there are some places on the main floor that I can't receive a strong enough...
Summary: Update 12/13/2007: This just up and died a few months ago. All the right lights were lit and it said it was connected but none of my laptops could recognize it any longer. For a while before that it would just drop the connection.
Summary: We live in an older house with those wonderful lath and plaster walls that are great on soundproofing and even better at stifling wireless signals. Our computer and router are upstairs and there was no appreciable signal downstairs.

As a result, I researched a variety of solutions, none of which seemed too appealing to implement (bridges, wireless range extenders, new RF...
