Important for Verizon FIOS Users

Isaac Mann, Amazon
29 January 2007
  • Summary: For those of you who have a Verizon FIOS account for your internet, DON'T PURCHASE THIS BEFORE READING THE FOLLOWING! It may not be the fault of this product but rather that Verizon FIOS routers do not play well with others.

Easy and damn difficult

Amazon Customer, Amazon
9 October 2006
  • Summary: Setting these two units up was as easy as plugging the two units into wall plugs and connecting the master unit to my router. Easy. Configuring the suckers to make the wireless network secure is not intuitive and not for the weak of heart.

  • Summary: It works great, easy to install, however, this product doesn't to last long. I have bought one and it lasted about almost a year and bought a replacement because wall plug wouldn't work for the second time. Second one, lasted for over a year.

First One Failed in 30 days...

T Howard, Amazon
21 July 2006
  • Summary: The WGXB102 is very easy to use out of the box. However, if you want to secure the network and change the supplied configuration, you have to jump through some hoops (like changing a computer's IP to be a specific IP that can access the admin console).

Does what it needs to, but don't expect any speed

M. Dembski, Amazon
6 October 2005
  • Summary: I live in an older house with plaster walls and my regular wireless network does not make it more than two rooms before the signal gets weak. Setup is easy, but do NOT use an extension cord or power strip. It is very sensitive to this. Also do not expect great speed.

Works, but set-up was not easy and there were limitations

Randy C. Hatton, Amazon
19 October 2004
  • Summary: Unlike the only other review of this product, I would not say that my experience was been as flawless. Despite having a Netgear router/wireless access point and Netgear PCI card for my "distant" PC, it took me hours to get this wireless range extender to work.
