Summary: If you own Steam and play games that require a server list, DO NOT buy this router, as it CANNOT handle it. Apparently the router becomes "flooded" when refreshing your server list it will not update your list completely or at all.
Pros: Cheap, great for grandma!
Cons: Floods when updating server list on Steam. If this sentence makes sense to you, then DO NOT buy this router.
Summary: Took me several days to figure out why all the installation images I download are corrupted, app updates fail on my phone, pictures and videos have artifacts and sometimes I see HTML code instead of web-pages.
Summary: I have recently purchaed refurbished Negear wireless router from newegg.com it works great for me, but has to be restarted everyday before I start using my Laptop. Can any one help me with resolving the issue?
Summary: I'd be fine with an RMA on most products, but after contacting Netgear, my options are basically: Pay $10 to ship it and then wait a couple weeks to receive a new one (Really not a viable option with my situation) or pay the same price that I paid for the router in the first place to have a new one...
Pros: I bought this in March. It was a wonderful piece of machinery. Was great and reliable and never let me down. Never recall it suffering from any interference, from any dropped packet issues, from any disconnections, just about nothing went wrong for five straight months..
Cons: ..And then it just died. Without any warning or indication of anything being amiss, it just completely crapped out on me just short of five months to the day. Dead. Irreparably dead.
Summary: After using this router for over a year, I have had quite a rocky road with it. I dislike it overall, because it means a lot more work for me. I like products that I can set up, and not have to constantly fiddle with them. I wouldn't suggest buying this router in particular.
Pros: Easy to set up. Nice design (overall). The firmware, although dated, is easy enough to navigate. Relatively inexpensive.
Cons: Changing a setting results in the router going into a restart/lala phase, which can take upwards of 20-30 seconds. No support for DDWRT. I have to reboot the router at least twice a week due to connection drops. The router could work great for one day, and then the next day it decides to not work...
Summary: Now that it is installed, it seems to be a good modem and working stably. However, no one should spend over 60 cell minutes and 3 hours trying to do a ten minute hardware installation. There are easier to use devices out there at comparable prices. This one is too big of a pain to mess with.
Pros: Good customer support on telephone. Good signal strength in studio apartment.
Cons: Extremely difficult to install and setup--it took over 3 hours and half an hour on the phone with Netgear to get it to work for me! Software repeatedly asks for dns and other isp information from cablevision which a call from Cablevision indicates the program should have picked up AUTOMATICALLY--...
