Good product - easy install.

  • Summary: As advertised. You install the driver, shut down the machine, stick in the PCI card, restart, and it works. Just like in the movies! Netgear is its own little universe in the Wireless Kingdom, the software has a tendency to demand that you use it, but it's pretty good software, so that's no real crime. I like it fine.

  • Summary: I bought one with my new computer, and it kept having this problem where it wouldn't be recognized and I had to reinstall it every time my computer shut down. Eventually, it would work again and then stop again, without any material changes in use or configuration. Now, about a year after I bought it , with the warranty freshly expired, it's completely broken down. Netgear's product has been terrible, and I would recommend against buying it.

  • Summary: The product is not working like I planned. My signal level is too low. I don't know if the product is defactive or I need to troubleshoot further. when I use my laptop with a similar wireless product the signal strength is excellent no matter what part of the house I am. when I use this pci wg311 wilreless my signal strenth fluctuates from low to medium strength. I have not been able to find out what is causing signal to fade.

My wifes laptop wireless connection took seconds to set-up & conect to the modem. Several knowledgable people, dozens of PC crashes, dozens of 'System Restores, ...

  • Excerpt: "...experience has told me that Netgear offers good value for money and reliability - that is until I came across this card!! I am not exaggerating when I say that this is one of the most troublesome pieces of hardware I have ever come across. I have installed this card on several systems. The installation is easy and straightforward, and within a few minutes you are ready to configure the card. This is where the problems can start. First of all the ...

  • Excerpt: "...to bring you this review. The Netgear WG311 54 Mbps Wireless PCI Adapter in itself was very easy to install, simply slot the adapter into a vacant PCI slot on your PC screw secure and turn on the PC, the net gears installation Wizard does the rest, the adapter selects the best available connection and adapts its settings to match. NETGEAR's Smart Wizard user interface makes it easy to adjust and view the settings of your adapter: e.g. adding wireless ...
