Excerpt: I have a gigabyte local area network for my home, which I use to transfer videos, pictures, and files between several computers. Two of the computers are used as digital video recorders. Because my home has plaster walls, brick sheathing and multiple floors, a Wi-Fi signal is unreliable, between the computers. However it is required at several locations throughout the house to support my visiting children's portable devices.
Excerpt: This did extend my signal so I now have wi-fi across my whole house, but it is very slow and seems to work most, but not all of the time. I'm not sure if a snail-pace internet connection is better than no connection or not. I regret not buying a more powerful or faster unit. Very disappointed, but that might just be because I want the unit to do more than it is capable of handling.
Excerpt: I researched several travel router/repeaters and decided on this one because of price and distance of coverage. I needed a repeater because I am using my neighbor's internet (with permission!) I wante to connect to the Internet as well as create my own home network for my Apple TV. It has all worked seamlessly as I wanted. I have used it in 2 locations so far and in both places the set up has been very easy and the service has been consistent. It does a great job.
Excerpt: One of the nice things about this travel router is that you can feed it either a wired signal -- like some "resorts" in Vegas give you instead of a decent wireless connection, so they can justify the "resort fee" without actually giving you anything -- or you can feed it a wireless connection. (Actually, a wired connection is better for security.)Why would you feed it a wireless connection if that's what you're using anyway, you ask?
Excerpt: I needed this tiny and brand name WiFi router for travel use and also use with my Mackie DL digital mixer. No problem setting it up and using it in 10 min. The signal strength is very good, as I could be two bedrooms away and still get perfect Wifi speed. The unit is well designed with flip out antenna. It has built in USB port for connecting USB drive. It can be powered by wall outlet or from your laptop's usb port 5V.So far working good, and hope it lasts.
