Summary: Am having lots of problems with the unit. Have to reboot frequently and the wifi slows down and stops working lots of times for short periods. Tested with direct ethernet hookup when the wifi slowed down to 2Mbps via speed test and speed test showed 16Mbps with direct hookup.
Summary: Superb range, even for 5 GHz. Placement is on bottom floor of a large 3-story home. Both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz have good signal in all rooms, even on top floor. 2.4 GHz delivers better speed through walls, equivalent to wire connection (50+ Mbps). Easy setup.
Summary: It does what it's supposed to do and greatly increases the speed of my wireless devices compared to my older wireless router. I connected it and opened the software as instructed. There was a notification that a firmware update was available.
Summary: I received this router free from Netgear to test and review. I am very happy with this router. I had my laptop connected to the wireless network and on the Internet in about five minutes from taking the router out of the box.

Mr 3D, Amazon
17 January 2015
Summary: I liked netgear routers - in fact I had many over the past 7 or more years. However - with this version the security functionality got changed - and not to the better. In the past you had a MAC filter and the obligatory WIFI password.
Summary: I have used Netgrear products in the past, and felt like they were a quality product. However, the WNDR4500 I purchased in Dec is either defective or poorly made. The range from the router to the area where my wireless products are most likely to be used is 30 feet, line of sight.
Netgear wndr4500 N900 is a horrible router with the worst Tech Support
30 December 2014
Summary: I purchased the Netgear wndr4500v2 N900 in June 2014 and it is now December 2014 and my router's distance keeps decreasing. When I first purchased that router it reached outside of my home and about 100 feet radius outside my house.
