mr314 netgear router

ogeezitsjames808, Ebay
25 October 2010
  • Summary: i was actually very disappointed in the router mr314 netgear wireless was pretty much useless. After weeks of trying, i contacted stroyce, and he promptly refunded me the router. I am satisfied with the customer service, but it still doesn't give me a reliable wireless solution in my gf's place. I'm pretty sure they didn't test the wireless capabilities, as I am a IT professional and have been working on many devices, ie. itouch, laptop, and macbook pro, but to no avail.

  • Summary: Really like it. bought the NetGear two weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the way I was able to plug it in and access the net right away. The NewGear's size is perfect for placing it on top of my computer.

  • Summary: The router only works sporadically. It was extremely difficult to set up and is loaded with very old encryption capabilities. Do not buy this router.

Netgear Mr314

Consumer Democracy

  • Summary: I have never really been disappointed with netgears products and I have always had more luck with them than linksys and d-link. This router has great features. The biggest problem I have with it is that it has to be rebooted every now and then to fix some problems. It has several ways to access its configuration - web browser, telnet, and ftp.
  • Pros: occasionally has to be reset
  • Cons: occasionally has to be reset

This router is AAA quality...

nishiko, epinions.com

  • Summary: Go to EBay and get one of these treasures for cheap. They don't make 'em like this anymore (at least not for this class/price range of routers)
  • Pros: Quality construction, generous hardware (ample memory, processor speed for robust firmware and fast WEP encryption)
  • Cons: None that are significant - honestly! Of course, upgrade to latest firmware though (v3.29).

  • Summary: Great router, solid performance, iffy wireless on high floors, but overall, great wireless coverage if above the antenna.
  • Pros: Easy to use, plug and play, virtually idiot proof
  • Cons: Short antenna, (not even really a con that much)

Everyman's Wireless Router - 802.11B at it's finest.

kbaxter, epinions.com
28 May 2003
  • Summary: Excellent wireless router for the home or small office. Pair this up with some of the Netgear or Linksys USB clients for a trouble-free WLAN you can count on.
  • Pros: Quick setup; easy web-based configuration; solid construction.
  • Cons: Locked up a lot at first; firmware update solved that (read on).
