Summary: These are a very good solution to getting your network or internet connection to parts of your house that wireless cant reach or isn't practical for your needs. There is little to no loss of speed from one end to the other. I used these to get an internet connection from my 2nd floor office in my house to my pole barn that is a little more than 50 feet from my house. Total wire it had to pass through was about 160 feet and 2 - two way cable splitters.
Summary: I'd been using a wireless N bridge setup to connect a smart TV, media player and PS3 to my FIOS network for the purpose of Netflix and video streaming. While it worked OK, there would be episodes where the streaming would be interrupted when the kitchen microwave would be used since it interferes with 2.4GHz frequency devices. Using a dual-band 5GHz bridge solution would require purchasing two new devices and setting them up as an access point and bridge.
Summary: I haven't tried this unit in "real service" yet but did unbox it and did some speed testing. With two macintoshes (a Powerbook G4 running Tiger and a Macbook running Snow Leopard), I measured speeds using iperf, first using a direct CAT5 cable running between them, then with the pair of MCAB1001's connected together with a short piece of coax.
Summary: I bought the Netgear MCAB1001 because I didn't want the router supplied with my Verizon FiOS internet, the ActionTec MI424WR. Verizon configures their routers with a custom firmware that maintains at least one administration backdoor into the device (on port 4567) and explicitly forbids you from creating a rule to block incoming connections on that port.
Summary: Took me about 15 minutes to set up. Worked as advertised. Followed the included instructions. Did not need to use the included Windows-only Setup CD software. Bought this to replace a power-line ethernet adapter (Netgear XAVB101). I also ran some speedtests for comparison purposes. From a Mac wired to a Gigabit ethernet switch to a mac on the other floor via 3 different methods: Copy of 568.3 MB file - 802.11n wireless (full signal on 5ghz spectrum): 1min, 35 seconds...
Summary: I run a computer repair service and have used these in multiple installations to connect computers and other devices to a FIOS based network. Setup is easy: -Use the included CD to load the control software. -Plug in the power supply to the MoCA adapter and press the mode button on the back to change from normal mode to configuration mode (a blue wrench symbol will illuminate on the front of the device when in configuration mode.
Summary: Purchased this product to eliminate a cable running from my office to the living room TV. Everything about it has been great so far. The setup was very simple, plug in the first unit to the coax and the ethernet, plug in the second unit to the coax and bam, internet connectivity over the coax. I added an 8 port switch to the unit to plug in more devices. No latency issues, great speed and no interference with the TV signal. Overall this is a great product.
Summary: I purchased this item to complete the installation of a roof top wireless internet service on a multi-unit, condo residential building. There was no possible way to bring down the requisite Ethernet line from the roof however, there were coax lines pre-installed for use with satellite dish antennas.
Great product with clear and simple setup instructions

Summary: The MCAB1001 adapter kit turned up, well packaged. Opening the box revealed a single two-sided sheet of instructions, with informative step-by-step guides. I managed to add the first adapter in my office, where the cable modem is attached with a minimum amount of network downtime. The instructions clearly state that you do not need to power down the cable modem or the router and it is correct.
Excellent full speed LAN performance. heck of a lot easier than running Cat 5

Summary: I have 3 of these throughout my home. They are awesome. The LAN is fast which is what is needed for streaming movies all over the house like we do. They have been in service for over a year. One is used for my sons X-box (we opted for MoCa rather than Microsoft's price inflated wireless adapter add-on, better performance for about the same price). Very Highly Recommended.
