Summary: I got the 'v2' version (GS605 v2) of this switch to put into my relatively complicated home network. I have homeplug adapters between floors, my NAT box and a media center upstairs, and several PC's and an XBox 360 downstairs, as well as a windows home server I move between upstairs and downstairs. I used this switch to connect the downstairs devices together, including the homeplug bridge. This switch is very reliable and works quite well.
Summary: Works excellent. Used to put smart TV, dish box, and printer to another spot in home. Has worked just as advertised for several months now. Changes the limit of items to be hooked directly to my router.
Summary: Great little switch. I needed to upgrade from an old hub I had for my TV now that everything is internet-connected. This gave me something easy to slip in amongst my Blu-ray player, cable box, Wii and AppleTV without being disruptive. The gigabit speeds mean that I can use the full power of my router to push videos over the network to my AppleTV which is very important when you have bored kids going nuts!
Summary: This was for my husbands computer in the basement. With all the pipes there, his reception on the wireless was bad. Now he's getting a full signal and is quite pleased. I would recommend this to everyone.
Summary: I purchased two of the Netgear giga switch 5 port for use in my home . I have had no problems with either device. I noticed another customer reported that the switch would not provide gigabit performance with his/her Mac Mini. I have had no such problems-- this switch is able to handle both 100mb/s and gigabit speeds with no issues.
Summary: So I bought this 7 years ago. I'm still using it. I've since bought 2 more. 1 sits under the desk, another by the AV center (TV, DVD, etc) the 3rd sat next to the router for a while since the router wasn't gigabit but now it's it in a box cuz my new router is gigabit.
