Netgear AC750 WiFi Range Extender EX6100 review: Extended range at the expense of reduced speed

CNET
17 June 2014
  • Summary: The Netgear X6100's awkward design and frustrating performance make it suitable only for casual networking tasks.
  • Pros: The Netgear AC750 WiFi Range Extender EX6100 extends an existing Wi-Fi network for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz clients simultaneously. You can use it as both a bridge and as a dual-band access point.
  • Cons: The Netgear X6100's range on the 5GHz band is short, it increases the latency for connected clients, and its Wi-Fi speeds are slow. It's also bulky and runs hot.

Netgear EX6100 WiFi Range Extender Review

techbargains.com
15 June 2014
  • Summary: We were really pleased with the simplicity and performance of the EX6100. The device is able to support two WiFi networks simultaneously, 2.4GHz and 5GHz, not unlike most routers available on the market today. We had no problem connecting our iPhone and Macbook Pro to both networks with incredible speed to booth. We would recommend the EX6100 to any office that relies on wireless for their clients or those that have a couple of weak spots around their office.
  • Pros: Simple Setup:, Connection & Speed:, Single Unit:, Additional Features:
  • Cons: LCD Display Wanted:, Out of Outlets:
