Summary: I purchased the Netgear DGN2000 combination wireless n router and ADSL Modem to upgrade to wireless N. The product was extremely easy to set up. I have had this product for a month now and it works as advertised. The WiFi signal strength is much better in the home with wireless n. I can transfer picture and music files much quicker between computers on my home network.
Summary: I have used this product for a couple of weeks now, and it has been great. I switched from a 2wire I bought from my ISP about a year ago. It was okay, but never negotiated my speed above 2Mbs, and I subscribe to up to 3Mbs. With the Netgear, my DSL speed negotiation with the ISP has consistently been at the complete upper range of what I subscibe to, both up and down. The interface isn't too bad, but not as "easy-GUI" as 2wire.
Summary: I have had this router now for about 2 years. The Netgear has good setup utility. I like that you can not only have network security, but also specify which computers are allowed to connect to the wireless. The ethernet ports died after about a year. No big deal for me, I went all wireless and it has served fine. One oddity I learned. This unit runs hot. Turning it on it's end instead of leaving it in the intended horizonal position allows it to vent better.
Summary: My DSL connection started to go up and down like a yo-yo. The culprit was my eight year old Alcatel 1000 modem. I purchased the DGN 2000 and combined three pieces of hardware (modem, wireless access point and router). The DGN 200 is rock solid. My two kids were home from college over Thanksgiving and their MacBooks were in almost constant use. The wireless network performed flawlessly even though the router is located in the basement.
Summary: Got this bad boy for about 20 bucks, and it has out performed the old modem/router I use to have. The old router went up to 802.11 g, which was okay, but this netgear went up to 802.11 n, which gave my family more bandwidth. The only problem is that it is limited to how many devices can be on it and still work well. It can take about four large devices on it, such as a smart tv, a game console, or a desktop computer.
Summary: I really like it I'm happy. Works well. It was hard for me to install it because in my country the company gives DSL2 router and I had to bridge the two router for internet access, but everything went well.
Summary: If you have AT&T, I really recommend this one modem router! It works flawlessly, smoothly, its features are awesome and matchless in comparison to those other lousy modems out there, specially the 2Wire which pose such a pain in the butt... Thank you so much for having posted this item!
Summary: The unit is great, NetGear sucks. They tried to get $80 or $120 out of me to help me set it up. The tech guys at DSL Extreme did it for free and it works great. NetGear, Inc. or the marketing arm has its' corporate head up its' corporate butt. They make good equipment and then destroy it from the marketing office. What a bunch of duds.
