Summary: Works fine with att dsl. Had an issue after a power outage where 1 setting deep in the menus was changed. After an hour or so with att tech support I found the problem. (There's a number setting for California & a few other states and a different number for the rest of the U.S. - which changed.
Summary: Except for brief resets due to ATT physical upgrades, or power outages, I powered it down about a year ago. I do wish it was Gigabit, or NAS ready, or compatible with U-verse. If it lasts to the end of the extended warranty (November 2011), I will have no regrets.
Pros: One box; less cables keeps spouses happy! I did get stands in my box. Purchased at brick-and-mortar. Haven't touched it in at least 6 months. Wizard was a no-brainer. Sit back, let it do its thing. Set up 3 of the 4 SSIDs so that friends could come over and mooch some 'net and not interfere with ...
Cons: Did run very hot and have DHCP issues and drops when I initially fired it up. I had it flat like all the other stuff. But.. I went online to Netgear forums and the consensus was to at any cost, stand it on end. It seems awkward when you have some wired connections, but it runs very stable now.
Summary: I have had the unit running for a about 6 weeks in a small office environment. It was easy to set up, I inserted the CD, followed the prompts and waited for the unit to set itself up, which it did on the first try. It can be set manually as well if you so choose.
Summary: This is the first model I bought other than the ZWire DSL modem that was provided by my ISP. It was so easy to setup and even though I consider myself an advanced user but it's easy enough for first time user also.
Summary: This is great for general use. Large tech-heavy families or small businesses might exceed its abilities.
Pros: It worked out of the box and the menu was fairly easy to use. Support from NetGear is better than average with lots of follow up
Cons: It seems to have some sort of DHCP issue. When the family all came over during the holiday, along with their iphones, laptops, and netbooks, we would get fairly frequent line drops, especially when someone tried to use a printer with a static IP. Once everyone left it ran like a top.
Summary: I bought this for my parents who at times had 3 laptops all connected via cables to their linksys crowded around the kitchen table. It cleared out a lot of mess and simplified their desk area.
Summary: We have been using this modem for about 30 days now. It is SO much better than the one that came with our AT&T service. We live in a 2-story house & keep it downstairs. It works great thruout the house. Also, we watch loads of movies & haven't had problems streaming.
