Summary: It starts out well, but after two hours on the internet, it starts slowing down and kicks me out eventually. I end up having to turn it off (that's when I felt how hot I gets) Then I have to wait a few hours to let it cool down and when I turn it on again, it connects but the web site is very slow.
Summary: This worked for a few months, and then, one by one, the ethernet ports died. Now, one port works sometimes, and the 802.11 is unreliable. It's a few months out of warranty, so I'm stuck with it. Maybe use it for a paper weight, or run over it with my truck.
Summary: i wonder how many dgn2000 users have bad wired ports on their router and don't know it?
Pros: at first, i was impressed, pretty easy setup
Cons: i read the other reviews about how it was running hot, didn't pay much attention to them, bad mistake! although the lights flicker on the front panel, it means very little, the wired port on the back don't work any more, hard telling when the wired ports failed, 6 month ago i bought a wireless ca...
Cons: It's too HOT! Because of heat issue (with the latest firmware), it is hot! Plus the package doesn't provide a vertical stand, it has to lie on the surface, which worsens overheating issue. Everytime it gets too hot, mostly LAN ports and occasionally wireless connection would malfunction. Although...
Ethernet ports dead < 1 year, No stand included, $100 heater.

Summary: I doubt I will ever be buying another NetGear product. Tired of their overpriced cheap garbage burning out. How cheap does NetGear have to be to sell a $100 modem without a stand?
Pros: Wireless works great.
Cons: Ethernet ports totally dead after 8 - 9 months. Heating issues can be severe, and since it does not come with a stand mine had to be propped against a wall, making the presentation look terrible.
Summary: After spending countless hours trying to debug the issue, I should have read the reviews. Seeing the same issue as alot of reviews, slowness and no connectivity in the router ports 1-4 and running hot underneath. What a p.o.s. router.
Pros: Looks snazzy? Didn't burn my house down? (Yet.) Isn't out chasing the neighborhood kids down with my lawnmower? (Knock on wood.)
Cons: Like other reviewers, I've had all the switch ports but one stop working -- and the one working port occasionally drops out. The problem is definitely heat-related and undoubtedly terminal. The modem section is also iffy, with multiple dropouts (many per day) on a solid DSL line. It's my belief t...
Summary: Dreadful piece of junk. Have used NetGear for years with great results. Should have bought another DG834 but decided to try this model out. Could connect to ISP, local machines could ping router, could connect to router remote admin from external network, but could not connect to public internet...
