Linksys X2000 router

Willie, Staples
2 January 2014
  • Excerpt: When the unit gets very warm it disconnects. I placed feet on the bottom side to raise the unit up to help keep the unit cool. This solved the problem.
  • Pros: Easy To Use

  • Summary: This modem-router replaces my old "Westell 'WireSpeed'" DSL router from AT&T perfectly! Plus, it allows simultaneous (direct-connect & wireless) internet access for multiple computers. Set-up documentation ("STOP - Read Me First" sheet) & on-screen instructions make this a snap to install. I called AT&T Internet Services and they gave me all the information needed to fill out the yellow "STOP & Read Me First" sheet.

  • Summary: This is a horrible wireless router/modem. After spending a total of 2 days and 4 phone calls to Verizon and Cisco, this unit finally became operational (if you would call it that). The accompanying installation software was useless. The wireless coverage would not even extend beyond the home office that it was installed in. Absolutely no coverage!!!

Cisco Linksys X2000

bula777, Ebay
2 July 2013
  • Summary: As the Linksys brand slowly recedes into the distance and the Cisco brand takes prominence, we have the Cisco Linksys X2000. It's a basic modem/router following the same design cues as the company's previous "UFO"-shaped routers, although this time comes in a matte black, rather than glossy black and blue. You can choose to set up guest internet access, of course, and just give someone the password, but this prevents access to local network resources.

Easy To Hook Up

A reviewer from Salt Lake City, Ut., Linksys
30 June 2013
  • Excerpt: So far it's working fine. It's a snap to hook up to Century Link. Thanks to the reviewer that suggested the firmware update when you first plug it in that's the key to making it work smoothly.

  • Summary: Having previoiusly used a separate router and modem for our internet needs, after moving they just weren't getting us on the net. So we ordered this new unit and as soon as we hooked it up, we were online! It's worked great!

  • Summary: I have not used this it. I did try to set it up and it didn't set up and I didn't want to mess up my CenturyLink setting. I have it for a back up and hopefully when I need it I can get it to work.

Excellent router

alexcamposmx, Ebay
8 June 2013
  • Summary: It does what I needed. The internet connection was lousy most likely because some neighbor was taking advantage of it. With this router my internet flies.
