Good product. just beware of in-experienced seller
13 July 2011
Summary: The seller did not adequately describe the product. It was used but not fully functional. I already have one that is fully functional with DD-WRT and am very pleased. Just not pleasede with the seller of the bad one.
Summary: Bought this to replace a WRT55AG, which would not accept "non 00" MAC codes in the wireless permit/block area of the firmware. Also wanted to add "N spec". WRT610 would probably have worked, but I'd heard that the 600 had better range but was a bit "quirky". This 600 works FINE...no problems! Haven't messed with storage link, etc., so I can't comment on supposed problems with that area.
Summary: This is regarded as the most desireable device for use with DD-WRT custom firmware. Although many cheaper devices are supported, this particular model has the best features and a good reputation for longevity. It has gigabit LAN ports, dual band radio and is easily flashed. Why flash DD-WRT? - unlock additional capabilities such as repeater, repeater bridge/client modes, WDS mode, QOS, accounting of bandwidth useage, etc, etc.
Summary: I bought this router because I was curious about the N-router coming from the Linksys G-router...and of course I want the best for my buck. The reviews I read from several websites on this model router had a lot of discouraging things to say about the ease of installation but good things about the speed. I decided to try it anyway, and I had minimal problems setting it up. Followed the step-by-step directions, then rebooted.
