Cons: at least 4 times i've had to unplug and reset the router to get it to work again. This is my 2nd and last Linksys, my 1st one died very quickly, this one hasn't died on me but it's very unreliable
Summary: 2) The software also attempts to contact 220.127.116.11. 18.104.22.168 is registered to MCI Communications Services, Inc. d/b/a Verizon Business. I might be able to understand this if they where my ISP.....
Pros: It can be made usable with 3rd party firmware.
Cons: Okay here is where it gets interesting. This device in my case (and some others that I have read about) are only able to correctly operate when the setup CD is used. I can understand using the disc for individuals who are unfamiliar with the hardware. I however am not and the 1st time I forwent t...
Summary: They are still OK, but be sure your home is about 2500 sg ft. and only two floors.
Pros: Well, lets say these units were my first choice among routers. I have installed about 40 of these things over the past 4 years. They have been great, fast and reliable! When coupled with a speedbooster NIC there is no reason for a Draft N.
Cons: These things are not what they once were. The newest ones have BEEN MUCH LESS RELIABLE do not have replaceable antennas. This has forced me to look for a new standard router for my home installations. I try not to use repeaters and rely on antennas to get better coverage. I can not do that with t...
Summary: It might just be a poor model, I have not tried any other models of Linksys, but I'm not going to either.
Pros: The website configuration and settings capability. The port forward configuration was easy, and changing security settings was a sinch.
Cons: When using WEP security, the router constantly reset to factory settings at least once a week. The router would sometimes not respond at all, had to reset it. I am now returning it to the store I purchased from after a five month use. It is now shot. Reset, time, and love will not fix it. I have ...
Summary: Don't buy this router if you want one that will last over a year. It worked well for a while and now it's just a nuisance.
Pros: It worked well for the first 9 months or so.
Cons: I've has this router for about a year and a half, and during the last 9 months it has really deteriorated. It seems that I have to restart the router at least three times a week (or more) because it stops routing the internet to the three computers (2 wireless, and 1 wired) connected to it. I've ...
Summary: This thing died just over one year, after warranty expired! Replaced it with the tried amd true, GL model, it has been great (1 month) I am still using the GS notebook adapter, it seems to be steady.
Pros: Set-up is good.
Cons: Had to flash unit, blinking Cisco System light. That went OK. Router worked for about three more months.
Summary: I bought this router because it was highly recommended on Newegg, but this will be the last Linksys I will buy. It's just more of a headache than it's worth.
Pros: It connected, at first.
Cons: Wasn't that easy to setup. The software that you 'must run' kept trying to take over the config settings I manually set. The signal was weaker than the 4 year old Netgear I replaced was. A month later the wireless is unrecognizable.
Pros: Set up was easy, I like the Linksys easy link newworking software. Signal strength was good, and the kids were able to play there online games without a hitch on the wireless network.
Cons: Lasted only 3 months, and Linksys returned and older, remanufactured version of the router, even though I requested the same version. I'm not happy, as my previous router was a D-Link and it finally bit the dust after 4 years of service. I wanted to save a few bucks and so bought the Linksys........
Summary: I purchased mine at C.C. for about the same price as here on Newegg, and will return it for a refund promptly.
Pros: Easy, moron-proof set-up on Windows XP.
Cons: 1. Connecting a laptop to the router wirelessly in the first place requires that you insert the setup CD into the computer and install their control-freakish software. And the software only works on Windows XP. 2. Mac OS X and Linux are entirely not supported, and it's not hard to perceive that L...
Cons: wow... it would not setup when i bought it nothing in my house that was made for the exact router was able to connect. Then i tried playing battlefield 2 while directly connected and i found it that it is a stoner router and only works for a while then disconnects you
