Appeared to Be Used

Glenn G., Newegg
4 October 2013
  • Summary: This item was sold thru Newegg but came from a 3rd party vendor. This is the Second Straight router I have received from Newegg that was DoA and shipped thru a 3rd party vendor. Returning for a refund and will buy next router locally.
  • Pros: Hard to tell....Item was DoA
  • Cons: Item was DoA and appeared to be used. The box it came in wasn't shrink wrapped and very beat up. It also took over 2 weeks to be delivered.

  • Summary: This router is a piece of junk. I have had this product for approximately 6 months and I am on the phone with support all of the time for hours at a time. It will work fine for a few hours and then I will lose internet connection.

Jennifer4917, Rate it all!
2 December 2008
  • Summary: setup is very easy. The problem was it wouldn't stay connected to the internet. It drops the internet all the time. Called linksys customer service (twice) they were sooo helpful. they told me either our lines were the problems or I was the problem.

Unreliable for gaming

Jeff G., Newegg
6 September 2008
  • Pros: Low Cost
  • Cons: I have spent a lot of time with this router. It worked well for some situations like standard web surfing but did not work well on others, like gaming. It was very frustrating to debug and hard to track down. The only way I could get good connectivity was to unplug the router and go directly to t...

Cheap knockoff of the original

Christopher C., Newegg
20 August 2008
  • Summary: I've had my WRTS54Gs for three years now. Recently, the cabled portion of the router failed on me, but since I was happy with it overall, I decided to get a new one. Imagine my surprise when I received it in the mail and discovered that the router has been redesigned and you can no longer affix...
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: No longer able to add larger antennas to the router

Avoid

Curtis F., Newegg
12 July 2008
  • Summary: Don't be fooled, Linksys keeps the same model number, but changes the product completely. This model number has lots of good reviews, but most are from years past.
  • Pros: Looks Nice
  • Cons: Lock ups, repeatedly

Unstable

Anonymous, Newegg
8 July 2008
  • Summary: I have been using Linksys products for many years. Over the years, I have watched Linksys descend from pioneer to being an also ran. Support is a joke... they are knowledgeable but have a poor grasp of the English language. I went to Best Buy and bought a Netgear WGT624.
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Very unstable. Received version 7. Had to cycle the power at intervals ranging from 30 seconds to 20 hours. Even when it was "working" there were many times I could not access setup. Any device on the network coming online or going offline would crash the router. Accessing setup would very likely...

Linksys WRT54GS

Anonymous, Newegg
18 June 2008
  • Pros: Low price
  • Cons: I should have learned the first time. The first Linksys failed within a week after installation. Bought another one which failed after three months. Quality just isn't there; I have an inexpensive Netgear wireless that has been working for a year without problems.
