Cheap, feature-rich router. Great bang for the buck.

Summary: I bought this router (WRT54GS v3) with the intention of flashing an open OS on it, like Tomato or DD-WRT. The 3rd version of WRT54GS is ideal for that, because it has a lot of flash memory (8MB) as opposed to the later versions, which allows me to cram as many features in as I need. When flashing a custom OS, the feature set is fully customizable, and includes such advanced features as VPN tunneling, individual bandwidth metering and virtual LAN.
Summary: This router is a piece of junk. I have had this product for approximately 6 months and I am on the phone with support all of the time for hours at a time. It will work fine for a few hours and then I will lose internet connection. 2X it did something so my IP address was no longer recognized and I had to call support to have them correct the problem only to have it happen again.
Summary: setup is very easy. The problem was it wouldn't stay connected to the internet. It drops the internet all the time. Called linksys customer service (twice) they were sooo helpful. they told me either our lines were the problems or I was the problem. So I ended up calling our internet company and they were nice enough to come and set it up..oh and by the way the same way I did it.
