Summary: Have had router for a number of years and worked well. Support software was for Windows XP and Vista. Linksys wanted to charge me $30 for a phone call or live chat to set up the router to be supported by Windows 7. Thanks but no. Will never buy another Linksys product.
Summary: Bought one. Died after 13 months (1 year warranty of course). Went to big box store and they said it does happen sometimes. Bought another one. Died after 14 months. Both units worked fine and never required resetting or rebooting. They worked great, until they up and died.
Summary: I owned two of these one replacing the other, both needed to be rebooted every couple of weeks and both of the conked out after less than a year. I now have a D-Link wireless N router that has been problem free for more than 18 month now.
Summary: Recieved this item in poor packaging (would you believe in a priority mail envelope?) I did not recieve the information I needed to make it work. My father worked 5 hours on this item, I chose Linksys because it sounded like adurable product.
Summary: i brought a linksys router from amazon model wrt54g in sept07 , it cost me 46$ , i would like to tell u all to buy a buy a brand new one instead of buying a used one. My router didnt work at all an there was an inherent problem with it.
Summary: My Linksys wireless router went bad in five months (mid-December). That's what I was told by their tech support. (They were wrong on that one, because I wouldn't be able to write this review right now if it were so.
Summary: This has far too little memory in it to be effective. I switched from my old Netgear MR314, because I wanted to upgrade to 802.11g. I had read that you could upgrade the firmware on the WRT54G.
Summary: I just wanted to add some information about this product that should be known by anyone considering purchasing this. First of all, it is important to know that Linksys has changed the WRT54G from earlier versions of the same model.
Summary: Linksys released a new version of this product in the October/November 2005 timeframe, which is version 5. Versions 4 and earlier were well-tested and rock solid. However, the new version 5 has many issues.
