Summary: In my quest to find a decent router at a decent price I bought a batch of 5 of these. Only 2 worked. The other three would either not hand out ip's or would not access the internet. I tried numerous factory resets and firmware upgrades but couldn't make anything happen.
Summary: AVOID AT ALL COSTS. IT WILL CAUSE YOU HEADACHES LATER.
Pros: Looks Nice
Cons: I had this thing for over a year and I first noticing that I was getting redirections while browsing. I knew that I didn't have any spyware or anything. Checks some forums and this think will do that every once and a while deliberately for some kind of marketing thing. After about 7 months I deci...
Summary: No solution posted on forums up to 3.30.2011 works. There are at least 10 networks in my building that the Airs pick up, so could be interference. Curious what routers people use in congested NYC buildings that work with Airs 2010. Please post
Pros: The wired PC works fine.
Cons: Intermittent drop or extremely slow internet connection with my 11" and 13" Macbook Air 2010s. This problem is reported widely on Macbook forums.
Summary: I pay for the highest internet comcast has in my area which is 60MBs. and I receive 1.6MBs through this wireless peice of junk on my brand new wireless N laptop which is 2 meters away.
Pros: Wireless N. Looks somewhat cool.
Cons: Wireless range is horrible for walls. I would lose 2 out of 3 bars on my phone when I go up stairs in my house. The last few weeks have been a nightmare for me after owning this for over a year. Now it drops constantly and I can't even watch a netflix movie without it stoping 5 minutes into it.
Summary: I've had similar issues with the "new" linksys products. The good old 54g was robust, but these newer fancier designs seem to be very problematic. We had one at my company that required a daily reboot to reset the wireless as well. I thought it was just a fluke and bought mine anyways. My loss.
Pros: Easy set up. Consistent and familiar management interface.
Cons: Days after the 1 year warranty expired, my unit starts dropping the connection once an hour. Sometimes it's as bad as once every 15 minutes, but typically it's about once an hour. Firmware was updated, device rebooted but no help. If I run wired it doesn't happen, only with wireless. Contacted Ci...
Summary: You would be better off sending a letter than using this piece of cheap consumer junk. Linksys and DLink have given up making useable products. Too bad.....
Pros: It looks nice
Cons: This thing is useless. Range is 15' max. Can increase to about 20' with amplified antennas. Very humidity sensitive, range drops top about 8' (yes, thats eight feet) when humid. Max throughput is 18mbps.
Pros: 3.0.02 kind of worked. Once you update to 3.0.03 everything goes to pot.
Cons: I have had three of these (they will not send another model). This router blocks websites. Linksys says its a "known issue". DO NOT update to 3.0.03 not matter what tech support says. The following will happen: your router will drop about once every 5 mins. You will still have a blocked (DNS) pro...
Cons: Intermittantly stops passing IP traffic.. have to power cycle.tempted to throw over the fence.. Had a hard time setting up another Linksys USB wireless dongle to wireless system and to dump the Linksys software and use MS Zero touch... Now wireless transmitter quit... I'm done with Linksys produc...
Cons: I will never by another linksys or cisco product again. Your tech support/ customer service, aka india don't seem to care about you or your problem. you can tell they hate their job. They never understand what I am talking about. So i got a router from Newegg. A few months later the thing dies. I...
