will not stay connected

galaxyalc, Viewpoints
9 September 2012
  • Excerpt: Works great when it will stay working. Every 2 days I have to reset the router in order for it to work again. Very frustrating. Have called Linkys twice but cannot seem to get this problem resolved. After doing some reserch it seems to be a problem with many people who are using verizon dsl. I have tried 2 different linksys routers and have trouble with both. I do believe it is time to give another company a try.

"This goes in the trash (too late to return)."

Bob Eicholz, CNET

  • Pros: Looks cool.
  • Cons: Stopped working for no reason. Customer support didn't want to help me, saying it's out of warranty (have only had it less than a year). I had option to pay $44 for support. Wow...that's about 1/2 of what I paid for it, and I would still be stuck with

kenwu62, CNET
31 March 2011
  • Pros: 1. It comes in a cardboard box. 2. It has lights that are a nice shade of blue. 3. Install was easy.
  • Cons: 1. Random drop outs daily requiring hard reboot. 2. Random changes in connection speed that do not seem to correlate to anything I can figure out. 3. Runs HOT. 4. Customer service would be better manned with bots. 5. Dead spots that make no sense at all-

"Problems and no fix"

NoNuttin, CNET
14 September 2010
  • Pros: Easy set up
  • Cons: It has problems finding sights such as FaceBook and others. Gives an Invalid URL or Can't find Page, or Can't find server. I've read alot about this router and it seems to be a known issue but there seems to be no fix for it.

"Known Flaw in Firmware"

firelitd, CNET
10 September 2010
  • Pros: It is a pretty solid router. Sleek design and fairly easy to set up. We get good reception and connectivity on both PC and Mac.
  • Cons: Serious issues with the firmware (Ver.3.0.02 and before). This known issue that is well documented in Cisco's own forums. Nothing is more frustrating that surfing the net and being automatically redirected to a different website by your router.
