Cisco-Linksys WRE54G Wireless-G Range Expander

John, REVIEW STREAM
1 December 2010
  • Excerpt: I was having problems with the wireless signal inside of my house being somewhat weak so I decided to purchase this expander and I’ve been very impressed with how well it works. I purchased it from Office Depot and I only paid 25 dollars for it. Compared to some of the others that I priced I believe this one is fairly cheap. The installation process for it is a breeze.

Works good. Easy Setup.

  • Summary: It worked and the auto connect button was pretty slick... But the units power adapter didn't work. So I had to use the secondary wall adapter instead. Not a problem, just was not happy about that. But it works fine and haven't had complaints about it.

Works great, once you get it setup

J, J&R
19 June 2008
  • Summary: Works great once you get it set up. Took a while. If you don't have security already setup on your router, should go easy. I had security enable on my WRT54G, so didn't use the auto setup feature. Probably should have called the 800 number and would have gone quicker. Once setup though, I am pleased with it. Been running for about a month now without any problems. Have read that the WRE54G is only designed to work with a couple Linksys router types.

  • Excerpt: "...either thinking of buying the Linksys WRE54G or you have one and want to see what other people think of it. I have a Linksys WAG200G home gateway which is a modem and wireless router in one. Within the extremes of my house and garden signal was poor and I investigated various options and came to the conclusion that the best one was to go for a range expander. Belkin have an offering but seeing that Linksys have one I went for it as everything ...

Linksys extender

  • Excerpt: "...more routers. This Range extender from Linksys is a very useful piece of kit. Was very easy to set up (once I typed the correct MAC address into my gateway) and provides the range I need to go over about 30 metres and through several big thick brick walls. I was having trouble with just my router so i turned to the internet and this is what i found. I combined it with a new antenna on my PC and my signal is now 5 bars! Much better than a half ...
