Excerpt: My boyfriend’s uncle just purchased a new WPSM54G Linksys wireless print server few months ago so that we can install it in our home network with their printer. Actually this is their second print server, the first one which is WPS54G is not compatible with their multi (all-in-one) printer so …
Summary: I gave it 4 stars due to it being so not intuitive to set up. It will work bidirectionally with windows 7 x64, but you have to search the linksys forums to find out how. You must upgrade the firmware from the linksys site and download the new drivers. Then you need only to run the setup program found in the utilities folder. Follow the prompts and you will be done in 5 minutes. It took me several days to figure this out. Now it works perfectly.
Summary: I ordered two of these print servers, one for home, one for the office. They both work fine. The set-up is nearly idiot-proof. The included CD gives step by step instructions on setting the server up. My only complaint is that the server insists on being the default printer and it will not allow another printer to be default without manually changing settings. On reboot the print server returns back to being default.
Summary: I purchased the print server after reading various reviews on Amazon. The retailer should mention (on this site) that the software included in the box will not work with Win Vista/Win 7. I installed the device on my gateway desktop (Win Vista 64-bit) but not without some effort. I chatted online with Tech Support which is apparently outsourced to India.
Summary: Okay, it wasn't easy to install the way the manufacturer recommended, but I've been in the industry for a few decades, so it didn't take much to figure out the one hurdle wasn't really much of one. First, set up the WPSM54G as directed using the supplied software. Make sure you change the admin username and password. Also, enter the information to get to your wireless router. Second, check your router's configuration to determine what the IP address is for the WPSM54G.
good product, do some research, good price, no linksys warranty

Summary: Bought for an HP4200. I gave the product 4 stars because it has only been a week of use. I received this in a timely manner. It came in really good shape cannot tell it's refurbished. Pc with XP easy install, laptop with vista not so easy but doable (read below). Contacted manufaturer and told me the warranty had expired and they could no longer help me for free over the phone that I had to call their 800.
Summary: With a little trouble and trial-and-error, I have the device working properly with Windows 7 and Mac computers (and an HP 1320 printer). A firmware upgrade was necessary, but the the device setup software that came with the unit worked fine. The advice from the other reviewers was very helpful, so here are two more tips that might help someone else: (1) To determine the print server's IP address, press its reset button while it's connected to the printer.
Summary: At first it was not working and the computer did not pick up its signal. After I installed the firmware update it worked like a charm. the wizard is also a very helpful tool to get you hooked up in no time.
