Summary: It was very easy to setup on a Windows Box, however if you are a Linux or MAC OS guy there is about 30 mins worth of setup time and still more to tweak. 1 hour total. Recommended for Windows ONLY.
Summary: It is wonderful to be able to print from anywhere in the house from my laptop. I've been without a wireless print server since going to Vista, so I love that I finally am able to use a Wireless Print Server again.
Summary: Usually when I have purchased refurbished items I have had no issue. This one was not the case. Who ever had it before locked the IP address with a password that would never allow the server to be reset. It was quite frustrating. I had to send it back to the manufacture to send me another one. However, who knows how long that is going to take. I would think twice about purchasing a refurbished router/print server again.
Excerpt: It asked me to run the CD to other computers and there is a note that if I have vista, I have to download the setup CD in the web which I did. It installed fine in the Vista computer as well though it took sometime to install it. After that, I unplug the WPS54G and printer to place it in their second floor living room to test if it will print documents wirelessly and it DID!
Summary: We use two of these print servers on our small business network, one with a HP LJ 3050 and the other with a HP LJ 1200. It works well and there's no issue with both of them being on the network at the same time. The Linksys set up software didn't really work with Vista for the set up of the print server, but I was able to use it to configure a Vista machine so that it could see the printer later.
Summary: This item was easy to set up and has not failed me. The only downside is that I use this on a multifunction printer. I can print fine but I cannot control scanning... so I have to disconnect the device and plug my computer directly into the printer to perform scanning. Fortunately I don't scan often. For printing though, it works great.
Summary: Bottomline it works. Connected it to my HP multifunction unit and it works. Prints, Scans and also able to access the flash card drive on the printer. You need to ensure your printer software has option to install it wireless otherwise it will not be able to scan. Sometimes, it looses its communication with the printer. Both printer and router needs to rebooted. Wireless signal sometimes interacts with my wireless router.
Pros: Easy setup. Small unit.
Cons: Needs to be rebooted once so often. Interacts with my regular wireless router.
Summary: The product serves my function to print from multiple computers to a centrally located printer. Configuration was not easy. I'm no tech geek, but I'm not a complete novice either. The Linksys setup CD did not work well. The Linksys chat support was very friendly and cordial, but not overly helpful. I told the chat support staff the specific problem and they could not help.
Pros: It works. I can print from three of my computers to my Epson RX580. Two of the computers run Vista and the other runs XP.
Cons: I believe the multifunction aspect of the product means the user should be able to use the scan function via wireless also. I had no luck be able to make this function workthrough the print server.
Summary: I was looking for a good print server for my hp 3055 all-in-one laser printer. I read a lot of stories on web about how difficult and unreliable these devices were. However. I was very surprised at how well written the instructions were and how quickly I was printing from both of my PC and laptops. (if you have secured your home network, make sure you have your WEP key before you start. You will need it and your router login and password to set up this print server).
