Summary: The Adapter was easy and quick to install. I have a small form factor HP Desktop and had to replace the standard bracket with the inclosed SFF bracket which took less than five minutes. It took another five mnutes to insert the board into a available PCI slot. Easy to follow instructions with the "Quick Installation Guide." All the wireless connections worked great after the installation.
Pros: Easy to install. Plugged it in, booted the computer and it practically installed itself. Later I upgraded to Win7 and had no hiccoughs with the upgrade. I have noticed no problems with the signal strength, though my house is not large, the computer will be within 40 of the router wherever I have placed it.
Summary: I thought that this card would give a better range than my ASUS card that only had 1 receiver, but not so. This card didnt have good range. I was only getting about 2 bars at 30ft through 1 wall. The ASUS would get 4.
Excerpt: I had problems installing, to start, and problems throughout the entire ownership of this item. I'm one room away from a nice router. A cheap 12$ adapter did better than this. It's discontinued for a reason!
Summary: It is a low profile. The card sits low with relation to the bracket so it sits high on the sucket. A friend has to cut 1 inch of the upper portion of the bracket in order to be able to close the cover. Otherwise, it works.
Summary: I've held off this review for a few months in case any issues arose, but none did. This card was relatively easy to setup - though it took a few attempts at unplugging it from the board and placing it back on again - and the wireless has not had any issues since I've installed it. The range is decent; the speed & signal strength has not suffered. I am one floor up from my router, in a Victorian house. The drivers work fine.
Summary: One would assume that a LinkSys product of the exact same type would work perfectly together but this is just not true! Believe all the other negative reviews about this card!!! It is crup!!! This is the only product I have ever regretted buying!!! I always pay the extra money for for a good product, but in this case I should have gone with a cheaper one that works way better!!!
Pros: ? The specs seemed good!?
Cons: I bought this because I have had a LinkSys Wireles-N router for 3 years. The router is super stable and has worked perfectly for years. It provided access for; PS3, Wii, iPhone, Droid, 2 laptops, 1 Mac-top, my broke neighbor, a DSi, and was used as the gateway for my workstation and printer, which was used by all capable wireless devices. I bought this product because it matched the router exactly. The router was upstairs and my new HTCP build was downstairs, next to ...
Summary: I bought a cheap wireless receiver. Did me good but overtime as speeds got faster the kit could not catch up. Bought this and what I can say. Signal NEVER drops and using this with BT Infinity with hub downstairs. Speeds are extremely high you would think my PC is connected via wire. Really good product.
