Does WPA 2 (if you are running WinXP)

Mark R., Newegg
2 November 2014
  • Pros: Cool looking
  • Cons: No longer supported. Linksys no longer has drivers for this wireless adapter. That means that if you have your PC running XP, you are fine, except that Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP six months ago. So despite your extreme vulnerability to internet-borne malware, you can run a nice secur...

Not Compatible with Win7

Kent_Diego, Amazon
18 June 2012
  • Summary: This was an awesome WiFi card with Windows XP. There is no way to use with Windows 7. Shame on Cisco/Linksys! Any other reputable big name company would have made the effort to support their customers. No driver means no support.

The best package for PCI wireless under 54mbps

Brian P., Newegg
19 April 2011
  • Pros: I have a had a great experience with this card. Going for 5 years it hasn't let me down, and gives good speed. For those with only PCI slots and wants actually decent range get this card with the SRX tower. period. Do NOT buy the PCI cards with the antennas coming out the back; the range is not e...
  • Cons: Beware the speed rating, which is still good. In MEGABYTES, (NOT megabits, which is rated 108 per second), it gets 13.5 *megabytes* per second. ThumperLane Homestead "Thumper", Amazon
19 November 2008
  • Summary: I purchased this in July.. Installed per directions 4 times.. Updated drivers and spent countless days on the phone with customer support in Phillipines. They told me over and over how to take out and reinstall and when I did and it didn't fix the problem, they would send me up to the next level for...

Outstanding range

Frederick Crawford "gadget geek", Amazon
20 October 2008
  • Summary: At one point I disconnected the antennae from the unit and still had full signal strength on the connection w/ my router. Never any drops (in fact, my connection w/ this remote computer is better/quicker than the connection we have w/ a CAT-5 wired connection). Highly recommended.

Very impressive works as described and some cords too short

Isdageek, Amazon
3 July 2008
  • Summary: This adapter is awesome it picks up signals from a block away. It works as described and it is easy to install. Only drawback is the length of the wires which are barely long enough for you to sit it on top of your tower.
